Hi I am a person who loves to play video games. I bought the Saga Game Gear because I love the older game systems as much as the new ones that I play. The last time i held a Sega Game Gear was like 10 years ago and i loved it. I dont dislike anything about the Saga Game Gear. I do like that the screen is lit up unlike the gameboy and gameboy advance. It made it easy for me to see in the dark while still able to see it in the light. This is like a PSP i guess to me just a much more less advanced version. I play Xbox360, and now i can play my in geat condition Sega that I used to hear great things about. I would recomend this product to anyone that loves to play Sonic as well as some other classics. I hope my review helped and ill see you all around on ebay. Later.

The Game Gear is a blast from the past that will keep even today's kids entertained for many many hour. This is an 8 bit gaming system with a fairly large game selection, and like most Sega products has a lot of neat addons and supporting hardware available.. The generation of color passive LCD that the Game Gear uses don't compare to today's LCD technology but that does not mean you cannot get a neat gaming experience. The blurring of the screen actually can make blocky graphics smooth and look better in some ways.
The Game Gear is just the right size to hold for many hours without the cramping hands you get with many of these small gaming systems of today.
Many systems out there suffer from the faulty capacitors of the day, but its an easy fix for anyone with a little experience in electronics or soldering such.
Great system for what they go for today

I bought a Game Gear some months ago from an old schoolmate with 7 games. This device has serious issues about its capacitors, as you may know. So, the GG I received, had no sound at all and the screen was awful and unplayable. I replaced all its caps and now works perfectly. The other issue is the battery consumption (fortunately I own an AC adapter). This is the main reason that failed in comparison with Game Boy. The fact that it's very bulky and heavy, and so its accessories, is another major problem. Attach a Wide Gear to see what I mean. However, I like this console because of its colourful screen and some great games. Regarding the battery consumption, I saw a modification about replacing the light tube which illuminates the screen with LEDs. So I bought another Game Gear in order to make this mod. The consumption has reduced a lot. In conclusion, the GG is a very nice try from Sega to compete Nintendo's domination in handheld's field. GG remains a memorable and lovely console for retro gamers like me!

Classic color video game system. Great games, easy to use...only down side is the extreme battery consumption. I recommend the adapter for indoor use. Reminds me of being a kid again! :-)

This is a great old hand held game system. It was better in it's time than it's main rival, the "Game Boy". Unlike the Game Boy, yoou could even watch T.V. on the Game Gear with an adaptor.
It fits well in your hands with the buttons in a logical location. The large screen is easy to see and is back lit. The only reason it did not do better is the point that SEGA did not promote it correctly
