NUMBER ONE NON-FICTION BEST-SELLER IN THE COUNTRY

(Four Stars)

“The law of attraction is the law of creation. Quantum physicists tell us that the entire Universe emerged from thought! You create your life through your thoughts and the law of attraction, and every single person does the same. It doesn’t just work if you know about it. It has been working in your life and every other person’s life throughout history. When you become aware of this great law, you then become aware of how incredibly powerful you are, to be able to THINK your life into existence.”

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne is a cross between Norman Vincent Peale’s The Power of Positive Thinking and John Paul Sartre’s Being and Nothingness. This is the current best selling self-help, self-improvement book in the world. The author, Rhonda Bryne, begins with the statement that she had reached a point where her life had collapsed around her. In tracing threads that were common in many books, including those about Quantum Physics, she comes to the conclusion that the law of attraction makes your life happen as you envision it, and if you think of good things for yourself, they will be attracted to you. Your life is then the product of persistent thoughts, so you can attract the good things in life to you, by simply persistently thinking of good things that you want in your life. You create a good life for yourself by placing consistent thoughts on the right, positive-thinking frequency.

Based on this single premise, Bryne tells us how to attract money, make our relationships work, and helps us find good health. She gives us the secret to ourselves, our world and to life. These are powerful processes that once we know how to use the secret, will make our lives what we always wanted it to be. There is an undercurrent, like with existentialism, that we create ourselves, not only by our actions, but mainly by thought and deed.

This is a wildly popular book that has great insights, and vouches for the power of positive thought and action. There is nothing that we cannot accomplish with this secret, to think positively what we want, to envision it, to act on it and those things will come to us. I give The Secret a big thumbs up and recommend it without hesitation to our readers.

The Secret- It could be just what we all need!

The principles used in the book The Secret aren't as secret as the author would lead you to believe. This information has been around in one form or another and available to all who can read for years. Napoleon Hill wrote his now legendary Think and Grow Rich in the 1930's. The Secret updates these theories and expands on them with clear easy to understand language.

The book is ultimately about teaching us about using our own thoughts to create the kind of life we want. The author gives specific examples about losing weight, making money, health and the power of gratitude. She also touches on personal accountability.

In my opinion, this book is something every single person on this planet could benefit from. I would say that the main message of the book is that we need to take responsibility for our life and what we have done to get where we are. We control our future based on the way we think. If we can grasp that, we humans as a whole can elevate ourselves far above where we are today and only a bright future would remain. I firmly believe that the next revolution will be the Thought Revolution, and this book could be the spark that ignites it.

I recommend this book to anyone tired of the daily grind, anyone looking to become something great, anyone looking for something they haven't found with their own methods, to open this book and your mind. Those who have mastered these techniques have become some of the most wealthy, famous and respected people of our time. Why not duplicate the efforts of the most successful to achieve the same results.

good book

I liked the DVD much better than the book. The DVD was totally positive, but like Ms. Boyer, I found some of the books comments made my energy take a dive. Here is why:

Ms. Byrne says that those of us who suffer weather disasters have created the disaster or adversity. Like the power of certain prayers, some things happen because of energies that have been invested far longer than the span of one life. When you move into a disaster prone area you encounter "risk energy" that may have existed for hundreds of years. If Ms Byrne thinks she is stronger than this energy and can stop future storms from entering New Orleans, let me be the first to invite her to live here....Keeping one author in a swank French Quarter apartment (untouched by flood waters) has to be cheaper than the millions we are spending to rebuild the levee system. Even though I don't agree with Ms Byrne I would sooner trust her to protect the city than the government engineers who sat clueless for two weeks while my apartment slowly dissolved under 11 feet of water.

I also share Ms Boyer's dislike of Ms. Byrne's comments about turning your back on "fat" people (or anyone else). The book assumes that everyone who wants to can access good feelings at a moments notice and encourages you to shun people who don't fit your physical or emotional ideal. For many people, especially those from emotionally or financially impoverished backgrounds, feelings of abundance and self-worth can be impossible to access. A few years ago I encountered a book by the social psychologist William Swann. His studies on the affect that self-esteem has on what you attract into your life make very interesting reading that is closely related to the topics discussed here. While forgetting the past is not that hard, creating a feeling that you didn't have while growing up is nearly impossible for most people. Yes, we do hear of rags to riches stories, but they almost always involve a pivotal personal encounter.

Perhaps there is a reason that this information has been kept a secret for so long. Maybe that reason is that too many people would have used the knowledge to abandon the sick, dying, and less fortunate and spend their time generating new toys and bigger and bigger houses. Religion has often existed to remind people that they should be grateful for not having adversity. If you can wish it away, why bother with those who can't? This whole scenario reminds me of the creation story told by the psychic, Edgar Cayce, many decades ago. He said that man was an angel who created matter as a plaything and became encased in it because he forgot his divinity. I see no spiritual problem with having it all, but that can and should include kindness and compassion toward everyone.

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne-Life Changing-Magickal Book!

This is a great piece of literature! I believe everyone should read and experience this book for themselves. It is very positive and uplifting and focuses on how to become more positive and how positive thinking will bring you what you deserve in life. The universe will be kind to you if you are kind in return. It is not so much karma as it is faith. Do not be neagtive or think negative or you will be blocking anything positive from coming your way. The secret is a practice that ensures a better life for all who decide to read and grasp the concepts in this exceptional book. The law of attraction says like attracts like, so when you think a thought, you are also attracting like thoughts to you. Praise and bless everything in the world, and you will dissolve and align yourself with the highest frequency-love. Your current thoughts are creating your future life right now. What you think about the most or focus on the most will appear as your life. Nothing can come into your thoughts unless you summon it through persistent thoughts. This book has taught me many great things! I now create my days in advance by thinking the way I want them to go and I create my life intentionally. Here is a great verse from the book. The earth turns on its orbit for you. The oceans ebb and flow for you. The birds sing for you. The sun rises and sets for you. The stars come out for you. Every beautiful thing you see, every wondrous thing you experience is all there, for you. Take a look around. None of it can exist without you. No matter who you thought you were, now you know the truth of who you really are. You are the master of the universe. You are the heir to the kingdom. You are the perfection of life. And now you know The Secret! "The secret is the answer to all that has been, all that is, and all that will ever be." This book is by far the most mesmerizing I have read in a long time. Consumed by the energy and intelligence from the writings in the book I read every last page the second I received it. I could not put it down. It is a timeless beautiful masterpiece recommended to all! This book is not anti-religion or anti-God in anyway, if it was I would not have read it. It is just a simple self-help book with a big message. Have faith, believe in what you choose to believe in (including yourself) and the universe will bring you what you deserve in life through the law of attraction!

~Blessings to you my friend

The Secret ... the Gap ...

In my opinion, this is such an important book, because the law of attraction is working in each and every moment, whether we believe it or not, whether we recognize it or not. Most of us are living our lives by default, and wondering why all these things are happening to us.

The moment we think of something positive, we are drawing it toward us, and the moment we allow doubt, whether from us or others to influence our thoughts, we are pushing it away. The amount of emotion we attach to the thought speeds up the draw. I can only sum up a few thoughts, of which I have spent months, learning, realizing and living. Although I am experiencing perfect moments and perfect hours, it is not working perfectly for me as yet ... not because it does not work, but because I have not yet come to fully let go of old thought patterns and behaviors ... but my outlook is positive, and I am enjoying the ride of discovery on a daily basis. I think that is the key.

Like all things, you cannot expect to understand in a week, or a month.
This book is not a be all, end all. It is a stepping stone. If the ideas and possibilities excited you, if the truth resonates within you, and makes you feel good, that means there is something to it. If it doesn't work for you right away, that just means that you are too attached to the outcome. Life is a journey. This book is a stepping stone in that journey.

Many of the authors represented in the book and the DVD, the Secret, have been practicing for many years.

This book, the Secret, does tie it all together ... but like any subject, you cannot take a one hour seminar and expect to be fluent. So look for other sources as well.

For myself, I found also reading Wayne Dyer, and Louise Hay to be very insightful. Keep in mind, that each author lends his/her perspective to their telling of the law of attraction. If you are really interested in the Secret, I would definitely pick up this book, but I would also delve into some other materials.

The ultimate law of attraction telling would be right from the source ... listen to or read works by Esther and Jerry Hicks ... namely law of attraction, the basic teachings of abraham.

Let your mind expand, let go of outdated thoughts and behaviours that no longer serve. Our minds are the absolute only thing that we truly control on this wonderful planet of ours. Most of all, enjoy the adventure, take your time, and know that when you are ready to understand, the truth will be waiting :)

Enjoy the journey, and I wish you every success in every moment. The beautiful thing is that each moment is the first moment of the rest of your life :)

At any moment, and perhaps at first, up to 30 times a day ... you can have a do-over ... change your thoughts, if the thoughts make you feel good, you are on the right path :)
