Unique and exciting MP3 Player from Samsung

I absolutely love my new Samsung Yepp MP3 Player. I have purchased other Samsung products before and I have never been disappointed. What attracted me at first was the price. I only paid $35 for this MP3 Player. But now I am so impressed with it that I would have gladly paid twice the amount. This is a really cool and unique MP3 player. Instead of buttons, spin wheels, or whatnot this MP3 player has a touch screen and lets you navigate by tapping on the icons. The menu is very easy to use and intuitive. I can play music, listen to FM radio, watch video or store pictures on this MP3 player. Transferring files from my PC is easy and fast. Samsung has its own web page - simply sign in and download the software for free. Anyway, I recommend it to everyone. I have an iPod Classic, an iPod Shuffle and a Zune, but this is my favorite MP3 player. Feel free to contact me if you have questions.

Excellent player if mainly for listening to music

I previously owned a YP-P2 for 2 years, before dropping it and rendering the display screen inoperative. Not wanting to spring the full price for a replacement Yp-P2, I settled on the next lower tier of Samsung's offerings for portable media players; the YP-S3. So, this review will also have many comparisions between these 2 models.
The S3 is a much smaller player, but the ergonomics are still excellent. The touch functions are limited to the controls - the screen is display only (whereas the YP-P2 was a full touchscreen/display).
Menu layout is very much like the YP-P2; and is intuitive and well laid out.
The screen is quite small (again, compared to the YP-P2). It is adequate for information and menu navigation, but watching videos on the tiny screen would lead to eye strain. Get a full-sized player if you are planning to watch a lot of video.
Sound quality is where this player excells; and surpasses the YP-P2 massively.
Be sure to get quality earphones. Tweaking the DNS settings just right will bring tears to your eyes at the marvel of the sound quality, even at full volume - it's that good. The YP-P2 would distort heavy bass (amplifier clipping) much more than this player.

More appealing than an Ipod

I like Samsung, and was also looking for an alternative to the famous Ipod. I love the light-up touch buttons and it is very light-weight. I like personalizing my things, so the key/charm loop on top is nice. You can also use the photos you upload to it as the background for your player. If you also enjoy listening to the radio, then you'll love the FM radio function. Video quality is awesome. It came with five cute games, too. There are lots of options for optimizing your audio and I think it sounds great with the default earbuds.

I got mine refurbished (you wouldn't know it though, it seemed brand new), but full price, it's still cheaper than its Ipod equivalent.

Well made product, durable and great. I would definitely recommend to a friend. Volume is good. Easy to manuever thriugh the menu. Easy setup features, and tge bluetooth feature makes it easier to transfer music to the device.

random?

this is a wonderful mp3 player, however i personally like to set my player to random and this unit doesn't rerandomize after turning it off and back on again, meaning, you'll hear the same songs in the same order as the last time you listen to it. i listen to mine all day every day as i work so it was kind of annoying at first but i've learned to just listen to the "songs" option which plays them in alphabetical order. the battery isn't as good as it says it is but it usually stays on all day and sometimes part of the next. other than that the sound quality and options are great which is what really matters.
