QWERTY partial
Created: 07/06/09
The good:
The Samsung SGH-T349 is slim and lightweight with a dedicated messaging key and a nice partial QWERTY keyboard. Call quality is good as well.
The bad:
The Samsung SGH-T349 doesn't have a great multimedia experience. Some people might not like the partial QWERTY keyboard.
The bottom line:
The Samsung SGH-T349 is a simple, good messaging phone from T-Mobile--as long as you're willing to use a partial QWERTY instead of a full keyboard.

Like my phone

I've only had the cheapest pay as you go phones until this one. Thought they were adequate, but after a while they quit ringing (ring tones were "compromised"). Haven't had this one long enough to know if that will happen, but really liking it so far. Feels more substantial. Ring is loud enough for me to hear anywhere in the house (before my sons would have to tell me my phone was ringing even if it was in my pocket). No trouble with quality of phone call. Can make/receive calls everywhere I've been, so far (haven't been in the middle of nowhere yet). Like the keyboard. Didn't think I'd care much since I don't text often, but all of a sudden folks are texting me and expecting me to answer back in similar fashion. Also nice for entering names. Looks stylish. Given I bought it for half the in store price, I think it was well worth the money!

Samsung t349 Tmobile cell
Created: 11/11/10
I recently bought the Tmobile samsung t349 cell phone. It has been one of my favorite phones that I have had from samsung. It is the perfect size for me and I am now a big fan of the half qwerty board! It has a very nice feel and look to it and I love how the screen is just the right size. It is very nice to to text on as you don't have to be too forceful to press the keys. I have only had one problem with it that I think must be a glitch in the software. Sometimes when trying to text, the preferred text will not have simple 2 letter words memorized even though I "add" the word into it's vocabulary. It will forget how to spell do, to, he, it, so, (you get the picture). It's odd though because it is only those 2 letter words that it will forget. It's a little frustrating but as the words are short, it makes it easy to just use the multi-tap or re-add the word. That's the only complaint that I have for my phone. It has a great music player and sounds very clear and I am very happy with it :) (oh and just something interesting is that when you hold the phone upside-down it gets a stronger signal for some reason)

huge mistake gettin it used

I was just looking for a good cheap phone for work that I wouldnt worry about if I lost. Iwanted it to have some functionality so I could input a lot of phone numbers, info, music, etcetera. The letter keyboard is not the qwerty type or the standard phone setup so it takes a lot of time to enter text. I am pretty slow but this makes it way slower. I t was advertised as all data removed, when I got it there was 135 contact in it and I could not block delete them because there is still a lock code on the phone. I also cannot access the data that I put on my sd card ( music photos contacts ), clear that start screen, its says erin<3 which isn't me ,and probably some other things that I'm forgetting or haven't tried to do yet. The volume doesn't get very loud but as a basic phone it wors ok if you cah hear the ringer. The only reasons Im keeping it is because It was cheap, it works as a basic phone and I would lose 2/3 of the purchase price in the cost of sending it back. My biggest issue on a new one is the keyboard, second the ringer volume. If you buy get a new one, they're cheap and available

Sound is good via headphones, features nice

Not bad for the price, small learning curve to get used to the keyboard, and the music player is nice, headphones dont' sound bad at all either....
The only minor gripe I have is that I can't figure out how to get the text-messaging typing system to be pure-alpha first, it defaults to "T9 English" where it tries to guess what you're typing, then I change it to alpha, sometimes forgetting to change it and seeing an odd guess of what I meant to type....
Otherwise excellent phone, and maybe there's a way to change the T9 English default.... everything is pretty obvious to me with this phone, unlike some others.....
