The Samsung Rogue has a gorgeous display, a 3.5mm headset jack, a great keyboard, and an impressive array of features that includes a 3-megapixel camera, EV-DO Rev. A, GPS, and a HTML browser with Flash Lite. It has good call quality as well.
The Samsung Rogue is a tad bulky, and the streaming video quality is poor.
The Samsung Rogue is a great multimedia touch-screen messaging phone for Verizon Wireless customers.

I like the option of a touch screen and a qwerty slide out keyboard. The phone has a great clear sound on both ends of the conversation; which is most important in a phone for me. You can have the greatest texting and iphone in the world and if you can't carry on a good clear conversation, it's not a good thing. Next best to clear conversations is the texting feature which gives me much faster typing with the slide out qwerty. The phone is easy to learn and get familiar with. The screen turns to landscape automatically when you turn the phone sideways and slide the qwerty out.
For those who listen to music on your Samsung Rogue you will need a to purchase good set of headphones and a external memory card is you plan to store very much music.
It's a great email tool as well, almost like having a laptop computer in by your side. I love the tools, the alarm clock, notes, navigator, email, internet. The phone works great with a bluetooth device also and you can share info both direction from your laptop and phone with the USB cable. I love the maximum 16 GB card slot for pictures and music storage.
I have read some reviews on the Samsung U960 about the battery running down quickly. That seemed to be the biggest grip. I have no problem with the battery charge life. The first day I had my Samsung I played with my phone all day long on one charge while learning where all the features were and all the settings were and still had plenty of charge remaining. I purchased an extra battery just in case I needed it but I don't think I will need it. I also purchased a protective screen, a rubberized glove, a sd card and stylus pen for my phone to keep it looking nice without very much expense from Ebay power sellers. The phone is everthing I thought it would be and more.
Don't fall for some of the newer Blackberry like the Storm that won't work right, when you can have a great Ssmsung phone at a much lower price. Buy your phone outright and don't get tied up for a year or two contract with any wireless company; should another company come along with much better service and you be hung up on contract with them. Under a contract if your phone should quit or you drop it in the toilet before your upgrade date and they know they have you over a barrel and will skin you on price with a phone upgrade. All I have to say about the Samsung SCH U960 it is phone at a great price.
REVIEW-#1 I have to say the very Idea at my age of a phone so advanced and with so many features was intimidating. I didn't purchase mine on Ebay, I was lucky enough to have mine given to me by a friend who got it with her contract & never used.WHAT AMAZING LUCK this is THE easiest, can't mess up phone ever!I have yet to figure out the QWERTY keyboard but the touch screen is amazing and so easy to use and text with!Definitely the tiny buttons and the numbers if you don't have tiny fingers are a challenge, but as with all new phones I'm sure I'll get used to it. I think the ONE true drawback to this phone is the EXTREMELY short battery life. There is NO fool around time, plug it in @first low battery warning or in 30 seconds lose whatever you were doing it powers down.LOVE THE FEATURES.Knew I must have a good phone when my 18yr old stomped around pouting for 2days telling me I'd HATE this phone hehe
REVIEW #2 18YR OLD DAUGHTER'S GENTLY USED EBAY ROGUE dgless23 (#230462217214) STELLAR SELLER !!!
UPDATE!!! We have now begun using the 2nd Rogue in the house, as my Daughter HAD TO HAVE ONE after watching me fall in love with mine !! I will say the MAJOR DRAWBACK to this phone is it's LACK OF BATTERY LIFE.Sadly my car lighter/charger does not work so I've had to search and have on order and external emergency charger. Have no experience with these so not sure how it will work but this phone gives ONE LOW BATTERY WARNING and then powers down and you lose whatever you may have been doing. I'm used to the typical phone and it's annoying 30-40 mins of BEEPING before it powers down so this was a real shock for me. My Daughter uses hers more than I even so she immediately ran out a purchased a car charger as hers didn't come with one(however seller is actually sending a combo pack to her as a non usb charger was enclosed and he fixed it RIGHT AWAY so now I'll have a car charger, should I ever have a car I can use it in lol. Anyway. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PHONE TO ANYONE! DEFINITELY WANT TO COVER IT IMMEDIATELY AS IT'S HEARTBREAKING TO SCRATCH OR NICK IT, BUT THIS REALLY IS AN AMAZING PHONE, I USED FACEBOOK ALL OF THE TIME AND THE $9.95/MONTH REQUIRED MEDIA PACKAGE IS REASONABLE AND SO FAR REALLY A VALUE !! 2 ROGUES ONLY COMPLAINT SHORT BATTERY LIFE, DISAPPOINTED WITH ALL IT'S FEATURES THEY WEREN'T ABLE TO DESIGN A MORE FITTING BATTERY!!! FOR THE PRICE THEY REALLY SHOULD DO A *RECALL* AND PROVIDE A BATTERY WITH DECENT LIFE. I FOUND THIS TO BE AN ISSUE WHEN I GOT MINE GIVEN TO ME AND RESEARCHED IT, SEEMS TO REALLY BE THE ONLY COMPLAINT PEOPLE HAVE ! ENJOY ! WE SURE ARE !!!!!!
I got this based on the many rave reviews on CNet. I had a Motorola Barrage (V860) and wish I would have kept it for one reason: reception ability. The V860 did a much better job of pulling in a signal. In places where the V860 would get 1 bar and be usable (could hold a call ok), the Convoy drops completely and says "searching for service". Otherwise it's an okay phone. I don't think it is nearly as rugged as the V860, it lacks immersion rating, and the battery cover is flimsy and lacks an O-ring. The latch also is easy to rotate. I could see it coming loose carried on a duty belt. Rugged? Don't think so.
Other than the construction and reception issues, the phone has excellent battery life, much better than the V860. It also has a much better speakerphone and earpiece sound quality is excellent. The menus are much quicker and don't lag, the camera is pretty good. The music player, however, sucks. No tone controls or equalizer, and it's pretty clumsy. It also doesn't get loud when using a stereo headset. The screens also have very high resolution and are easy to see. The keypad is probably the best I've ever used on a standard (non-keyboard) phone. Tactile feel and easy to operate, even with gloved hands. The PTT button, however, is oddly placed at the top left corner. It's red, and I first mistook it as a power switch. It's a small square size and in a strange place for a PTT switch. It is also easily actuated if the phone is carried in a pouch as you have a tendency to grip the top sides when pulling it out.
Overall, it's an okay phone but the mediocre reception and build quality make me wish I would have kept the V860. I hope the new owner is happy with it. I will be scouting for another one.
The Samsung Rogue is the perfect upgrade from my lg chocolate slider phone. There's no nonsense with this phone as menus are straight-forward and calls are easy to make and receive. The touch screen is surprisingly very responsive and fun to use.
I'm not a big texter or internet user but the slide-out qwerty keyboard is sturdy and has a nice click when opened. The keys have a soft rubberized feel to them and I have no problems typing on it.
The phone comes with good alert and ring-tones that are loud enough for me to hear in a crowded bar.
I don't care too much for downloading games or mp3s so I can't write anything about that, but my phone must have a good-enough camera because I always see stuff I want to take pictures of.
The camera on this phone is decent, taking very detailed and vibrant pictures in daylight but pictures are a little grainy in dark settings. Its not a big deal though, since there's a multitude of refining options. In addition, there are so many settings and effects and cool drawing and merging features that I can spend hours just creating abstract or crazy looking wallpapers. There's also a video recorder that also has some interesting editing features but it takes mediocre to poor quality videos. I guess its not that bad for sending something to your friends (what else would you use the video recorder for anyway?).
It also has all the other standard stuff like a calculator, alarm clock, calender, etc... although standard, these things are well designed. The touch-wiz interface on the home screen is a neat feature and is very customisable to your needs though it wouldn't matter to me if it were there or not.
Overall, the Samsung Rogue is a great, well-defined phone that causes little frustration. I can't see what else I would need in a phone.
Had the Voyager but decided to try something new. I love the features on the phone. Although, it is heavier than the voyager (and most phones I've had). The buttons on the keyboard take A LOT to get used to. If you have lrg fingers this is not for you. The speaker is not as loud as I would like but does have good quality.
Have had for two months now and only had one problem, it shut dwn on me and would not turn back on. The ppl @ Verizon stated that it needs to be shocked every so often by pulling the battery out.
Also, web pages and videos come in clear on this phone. Oh, the camera it may take long to take a picture but the quality is excellent (I have printed pics from the phone and they are great), it has a FLASH!
