I have had this phone for about 2 months now and i thought it was time to write a review.
The phone itself is quite good and pretty durable. Its long battery life is another great advantage that seems to be present in most basic phones. But in the description of this item, it says its a "smart-phone". nothing about this phone and its features leads me to believe this is a smart phone. which is one reason i think this product is overpriced. it is extremely basic and there is nothing about it that separates it from the other basic phones out there. the QWERTY keyboard is pretty nice as well as the dial pad and display screen, although small. it is extremely easy to use, setup and sync with your computer. the abilities of this are very limited though and I find this phone to be too popular today. I see tons of high-schoolers with this phone as well as adults and I always like to have a different phone then most of the "crowd".
the speaker on this phone is truly amazing and can produce a high volume that can easily be heard if you are playing music while driving on the highway. do not buy headphones for this though. there seems to be a odd background noise that doesnt bother me a lot but it is annoying none the less. The camera on this phone is horrible and the night-vision feature samsung provides with this is pretty much useless. I have seen samsung come out with some great quality phones but this is not one of them.
I personally do not like this phone but if you are looking for a durable, well made, very basic phone, go with this one.
****Update****
today I found out a major problem with this phone. I found out it has been randomly going on the internet without me even touching it. it will sometimes even use the bing pre-downloaded search engine app which, if you dont have a data plan (which i dont), will cost you an arm and a leg. I asked 2 of my friends that have this same phone and they said it happens to them all the time too. this is driving my monthly plan up by so much that i have decided to get a new phone. The Samsung Reality seems like a lot better of a phone hopefully without the "expensive" glitch. Do NOT buy this phone if you are not expecting to buy a data plan with it.
I have had this phone about 2 months now and its a good phone so far other than I don't like the quality of the camera and not being able to do videos. It has shut itself off a couple times on me. But other than that works great. Hate the lock feature on it. If you wanna view text messages or anything on the front screen you always have to unlock it. Im a heavy texter constantly messing with the phone and can still get about a day and a half of battery life on it.
First off..This is not a smart phone that you can play internet games on such as Farmville, Cityville, or any other sh*#ville games on. What it is is a durable phone that is damn-near bullet proof that you can call, text, and take pictures with. You can't operate the space shuttle from this phone or operate an unmanned drone in Afghanistan. It does what phones are meant to do. You make calls, receive calls, text if you want to. If you want anything more, carry your laptop with you wherever you go. This is the reason I replaced my phone with the exact same phone. Only reason for replacement is that this phone does not work under water. Tried that, had to replace.
We bought this phone for our 12 y/o son - so that he can stay in touch with us when he is not home. I wouldn't consider it a smart phone - we use it for communication only. We disconnected his internet access, but he is allowed to Text.
He had this phone initially and lost it - so this is a replacement.
This Is a great basic phone. Good value. Phone is easy to use and has a great keyboard or texting. Does not hav very good ringtones but other than that no complaints.
