Got tired of zooming in and out to read my Galaxy phone-Emails. That's one of the main reasons. Easier screen typing on this device-key size great.I purchased this item used on Ebay-saved some serious cash that way. Instead of getting a data plan from AT & T, I purchased a mobil hot spot device called Black Jack from Verizon-superior coverage in Minnesota, where I'm currently residing. Got the 5G plan for $50 a month, with a 2 yr contract. It's Bluetooth and can handle 5 devices. Internet access is blocked in the office I work in-this Galaxy Tablet is worth every penny. A person can use many of the available apps from your phone on this device.
You can use it in either vertical or horizontal orientation. In horizontal it's almost as wide as a sheet of paper. I wouldn't any smaller screen size-everyone has personal preferences! I wish this had an auxilairy USB port, so you could plug in a thumb drive or portable hard drive. I can only hope that the operating system will automatically be upgrade to Android 4.0 - Ice Cream Sandwich some day- to keep this device viable going forward. I use this device that my laptop use to do-this is so much more portable. I also wish I could do some windows software on here. Still can't figure why they stopped making this size.
I couldn't be happier with this purchase,i hardly use my computer since buying this tablet.
The size and weight are perfect as far as i am concerned. The picture quality is pristine and the color very sharp.I found it very easy to use and I'm not too great on using the computer in general. It came with a blue-tooth case and key board which my son uses more than I do because he is disabled.I just like leaving it in the case for protecting the tablet. In any case the blue-tooth keyboard works great for him.
The speed is better than my computer both for downloading and just changing sites.
All of the items listed were accounted for and came looking brand new.
If I had to list a complaint it would be not being able to view flash on the internet.
A lovely unit - I've tried the 10.1 inch but the 7 inch is easier to hold while still having the screen size needed for readability and functionality.
Was wanting to use this to replace my notebook I normally use to check email and play Ikariam.
Key layout is great with a number of options including normal QWERTY and the Samsung style.
Ease of use is 10/10 and very user friendly.
Music and video use - 10 out of 10 with great screen definition.
For normal the CPU keeps up however when using a browser (Firefox, Opera etc) it has trouble coping.
I normally have 5 tabs open - Gmail, a search engine, 2 x Ikariam and EBay - and the response is slow.
Tried clearing the cache and a number of browsers but still the same problem. Slow response and sometime freezes.
I have a Samsung Galaxy phone and it never freezes.
Have gone now back to my Samsung Netbook which, while not as fast as my notebook, has the speed needed to operate 5 tabs in Firefox.
In summing up;
User friendliness: 10/10
CPU and page loading speed: 6.5/10 (sorry)
Overall rating: 8.5/10
I have spent quite some time on the web investigating what to buy. Because I just don't like Apple's "no interface with anything non-Apple" policy, the decision for an Android device was quickly made. But there is a huge variety of tablets on the market - it's not easy to narrow it down.
What did the trick for me was the size. The 10.1" tablets are too large and 7" too small for carrying the device around. 8.9" is in my opinion optimal.
The Galaxy Tab 7310 has that size and a great feel to it - is light and handy.
With 32 GB, it has the biggest Memory built in that I could find. That size of memory makes it tolerable not to have a SD card slot. And the USB host functionality makes data exchange really easy.
When I first started the device, I received a notification that an update to Android 4.01 (Ice Cream Sandwich) was available. The update went like a charm and the result is impressive.
The Samsung Market does not work in my country, but I don't consider that a great loss. Google Play has everything that you may possibly want.
The battery live is good, but not great - I have to charge every day. But that might be because I use the tablet quite a lot.
I have choosen the Wi-Fi only version, because when using mobile net access, I prefer using the mobile hotspot on my mobile. That way I have total control over my data usage.
All in all: I can only recommend this device.
I paid 320 USD at TrinityGlobal. Excellent deal.
I had reviewed many tablets (Dell, Apple, misc named brands) and even went to 3 different stores to look @ them. I liked the fact that this had the Android 2.2, a usb port, the dual camera and an on/off button. Some tablets didn't offer the on/off button which was kinda bizarre to me. The tablet was very easy to maneuver especially since I hadn't actually had any experience with the Android market and the samsung phone. I would recommend this to anyone. The wifi was easy to connect. It was only this particular tablet that I bought as-is that had something internally wrong so it couldn't connect to the internet. Other than that, and I don't care, I love it!
