This is the best phone so far, or I have ever seen yet. However, I have to say two major downsides:
1. The battery life is tooooooooooooooooo short. With wifi and bluetooth on, it is good up to 12 hours when fully charged. If you do just the calling and nothing else (no internet, no bluetooth, etc), it holds up to 3 days when fully charged. This is awful for such an incredible system. I wish I could serve internet entire week and make 10 days calls via bluetooth on a single charge. That would be a non-replaceable phone ever.
2. I have 4-5 megabits speed on internet when I am on WIFI. It is like 1 megabit or less while on 4G sim card network. So, all the TV commercials, where they say "...It was so 17 seconds ago" are a great lie. If you are only on your 4G sim network, trying to open a web-page, you will have to wait at least 10 seconds. Imagine waiting 10-15 seconds while you are trying to log into your GMAIL or trying to refresh emails. That's is awful. When you are on Wifi, you wait 1-2 seconds to refresh web-page.
Overall, this is the best phone I ever had so far, with all incredible functionality. However, don't pay crazy $600 for it. I bought mine for $278 on eBay. It was used 35 days only, no internal problems at all. It came with 2 minor side scratches and 3 minor dents on the sides (only felt while finger-sliding). I put a hard cover on it for $2.50 & all else was great. Bottom line, be smart not pay too much, smart phone encourages you to be smart.
I just upgraded from a jailbroken iPhone (which was slower than anything) and this phone is so fast. Very easily accessible, beautiful screen (big screen), very light and easily fits in your pocket. If you're playing games or something like that, the battery doesn't last forever, but it still lasts quite awhile. The most I've charged it so far is every other day. This is an AWESOME phone and I'm so glad I upgraded. Camera is also beautiful and has many features other than just pointing and shooting. LOVE IT!!!
Its a wonderphone phone. This is the Tmobile version and is different from Att version which is skyrocket.
This is not LTE or true 4g, but there are no cities with wide coverage of LTE network anyway. (except one or two test cities)
This one I think is better than compared to the skyrocket in terms, as for the HSPA+ speeds it can support up to 42mbps speeds instead of the traditional 21mbps.
They used a different processor (snapdragon) to make use of the t mobile frequencies (1700 band)
The graphics ship is supposed to be little less performing than its att counterpart, but i have not seen any single performance drop even in heavy graphics apps. Instead, cos of this, the battery backup is a couple of hours better than skyrocket.
Overall, if the apps or running processes are not closed and are running in background, the battery drains very quickly and I think thats one of the biggest problems in this.
secondly, as this model came out later than other s2 models, the custom boots for this phone are hard to find for the icecream sandwich
the call quality and signal strength are really good.
tip: if you use tmobile, after 3 months of use, you can ask them for a unlock code as u r not bound by contract. (if u buy it from ebay or out of contract phone)
It's nothing special to me. I think the new Iphone that's coming out is pretty impressive. However this is one of the best phones for Tmobile, so I bought it. If I had AT&T I would go with the new Iphone when it comes out, but my bill is a lot cheaper with Tmobile. The battery life on this phone is decent if you like practically shut off all the lighting. The screen is bigger & clearer than the s1 that's a plus. The camera is decent. The phone is basically an update of the s1 in that it's bigger, faster, clearer, has a flash on camera, has a front facing camera, face chat capable, etc. I but 3/5 for value of money because I paid $350 for it, which is not really worth it. If you have an update with Tmobile and get it for cheap then I would consider getting it. The phone is pretty easy to use, similar to the s1 if you have had it. I put 3/5 for the features because I'm glad they updated the camera, but I still get blurry pics occasionally which is annoying. The phone did not get any thinner than the s1, I think it got thicker. There's no new features that really impress me. They pretty much updated this phone with things that the s1 should of originally had.
This phone was really a great buy! Im really impressed with its great preformance. The battery drains really fast though. But, I still dont understand why the prices are still high at this moment while the sIII has been out for months. After looking around finding it out to be around the price range of $500 - $430 I got this from Ebay for $409 without a contract which still seems to be pretty high for a product thats been out for awhile.
