Very unhappy with this hunk of junk.

What a piece of crap! The first time I put it on pause and turned my tv off (it is hooked into my flatscreen via HDMI cable)It froze on me when I tried to continue watching the movie, none of the function would work and even reloading the disc didnt help--it would just show a froze screen and wouldnt do anything else, though the timer was showing that it was playing. I tried a different blu ray and it started the disc, but wouldn't play the movie-just a dark screen, and play or stop wouldnt work--or any other functions on the remote-- I reloaded the disc twice...still same thing. finally put in a regular dvd and after restarting it twice, it finally worked. And the ultra fast startup time is a joke, and the remote has no zoom function for dvd's Don't waste your money, unless I got the only new clunker made...Buy something else!

Excellent player. Easy to hook up to TV. No hard to understand directions. Picture is clear, sound is excellent. Remote control takes over with ease. I recommend this player to everyone. Plays all kinds of formats.

This samsung BD-D5500 really extended the life of my plasma display. It did provide the new viewing experience.I used to hook up my system with pc monitor cable through my laptop but this player provided much more convinience to my life. Great sound good value, amazing image. Big thanks to the seller.

WOW! Very easy to set up and use. And since I have a Samsung HD TV, everything syncs automatically and can be controlled by the included remote controller, even most of the TV functions. I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this model, especially if you don't have a secret need to be a movie producer.

this is a nice blu-ray to use i love it i use it like 4 times a month with my samsung tv clear picture sadly i don't have a surround system
