| Rocksmith is a music game based around the use of a real guitar -- players can plug any real guitar with a standard quarter-inch input jack into their game system and play through an in-depth library of music including everything from the latest hits to classic rock songs. Featuring gameplay that automatically adjusts to the player's skill level and innovative game design that makes reading music visually fun and intuitive, Rocksmith engages experienced musicians and those who are picking up a guitar for the first time. The game includes a sizeable library of music from classic rock bands to current artists, such as The Animals, The Black Keys, David Bowie, Interpol, Nirvana and The Rolling Stones. | |

Really. Excellent. Product.
First of all I've bought a Fender solo guitar starter kit, to tease my kids ... They did not seem quite interested though.
Then one of my colleagues told me about the RockSmith and I've ordered it via eBay (thanks to eBay and Seller for excellent service) and starting the day Rocksmith entered my house things changed - my kids are playing guitar about at least two hours a day...
Great idea and a great game combining study with fun in a very balanced way, inspiring youngsters and enriching their world by music.
The product itself is flawless, hardware is working ideally, software is organized and implemented in a logical manner, music samples, songs, patterns and effects are just great.
Now I've also bough Fender Bass starter kit and I'm going to order yet another Rocksmith cable at the first opportunity so my kids can play together (Multiplayer mode supported!) and I will enjoy live concerts every evening :)
Thanks again, Ubisoft.
With Regards, Hakob
I'm taking guitar lessons with a professional teacher for 3 months now. I started from scratch and I've been learning scales, alternate picking, some chords, improvising and technique exercises so far. But frankly, exercises are boring. I couldn't stay for no longer than 30 minutes doing them.
But with Rocksmith, OMFG! On the first day it arrived, I plugged my Kelly, tuned it (my tuning was way off) and played for 2 hours and half. And this happened on the day after. It's been only 2 weeks and I'm having THE MOST fun time ever LEARNING to play the guitar.
The game plays a huge part to make it fun to learn. Great selection of songs, teaches several techniques, chords, funny little games, several difficulty levels and free play mode with loads of equipment you can't afford.
The best way is to combine Rocksmith and real classes, so you can learn the theory and the right way of playing. Only Rocksmith will make you play with vicious manners. Only real classes are boring until you begin to actually play something.
There are flaws, like lag and other minor stuff. Apart from that, it's a 9/10 game. Enjoy!
Game is great for any guitar lover. You can hook up your guitar (if you have the right socket) to your PS console - My edition was region free and worked rather well.
This game can teach you the basics of how to play and is also excellent for veteran guitar players.
The only down side is that the song list is (naturally) limited and am not sure if you can download or get other songs on it at this point.
Highly recommended, I bought it for my older brother and he absolutely loved it!
Would recommend it to anyone who hesitates on purchasing this!
Great application linking your electric guitar with a Playstation learning game. My 16 yr old son loves it and thinks its a lot more fun to learn this way. He's a lefty and it has right/left hand modes. Automatically adjusts the difficulty as you progress. Connection and set up was easy. * Must use external speakers connected to Playstation when using HDMI connection from Playstation to TV. ( Audio lag thru TV speakers )
Get ready to Rock,
I bought this program out of curiosity more than anything. It is a "Smart" program as it tracks progress, and challenges at Your pace. With the ability to review and load I am now to the point it actually sounds like something. Rock Band never appealed to Me plus having a very "Dusty" Guitar from way back when this is really a Good Time. I am fortunate enough to have My PS3 patched through My main Audio system and it sounds Great!! I DO NOT try to say "You don't need a Teacher", but this is like "Hamburger Helper" in regard to Cost against Lesson prices. In concert with a Teaching Pro I feel this is a Plus. As far comparing this to other software or Methods, there nobody home. Get a REAL Guitar in Your Hot Little Hands... and Learn what it's like to hit more than Buttons.
Highly recomend this set-up
