Movie synopsis
The third and final chapter in the wondrous STAR WARS saga is RETURN OF THE JEDI. Luke (Mark Hamill) must save Han Solo (Harrison Ford) from the clutches of the monstrous Jabba the Hut, and bring down the newly reconstructed--and even more powerful--Death Star. With Solo imprisoned, Luke accompanies his faithful droids R2D2 (Kenny Baker) and C3PO (Anthony Daniels) in a rescue bid, with Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) also lending a hand. After they valiantly disentangle their friends from Jabba's clutches, Luke returns to his Jedi Knight training with Yoda. Meanwhile, the Rebel Troops amass in an attempt to see off the impending threat from Darth Vader (played by David Prowse, voiced by James Earl Jones) and his new Death Star, with the operation being lead by Han Solo. But Luke must face Vader himself if he is to become a true Jedi Knight, and as he enters into a spirited battle with his light saber-wielding enemy, some surprising revelations await the young warrior.

Return of the Jedi

This is the digitally remastered third movie starring the treo Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (Han Solo) and Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia). Luke and the Princess set out to rescue Han from Jaba the Hut on a distant planet. Then the team up with some Ewoks to fight the Imperial troops and Darth Vader. Plenty of action in this one; and this is where Luke finds out who his father really was.
Special features include a commentary by George Lucas and others about the making of the film. They discuss some of the technical methods used to provide the visual and audio results we see in this Sci-Fi film. And it also provides additonal insight and explanation of details of the story. It could be a bit much for some, but if you are a real fan of The Star Wars saga, it is of interest.
Disc 2 includes the original 1983 version of Return of the Jedi; so you can compare the new inhanced version with the original. Disc 2 also includes a Lego video game X-Box demo.
There are all kinds of special effects, both audio and visual. Comedy is sprinkled through out, and imaginative creatures everywhere. The acting, especially between Ford, Hamill, and Fisher as they interact,is very good. There seems to be a better chemistry going on with them, this being their third movie working together. There is plenty of action and suspense to entertain just about any member of the family. This compares well with the other Star Wars episodes; they all are individually and collectively very good. Rate PG, primarily for the Sci-Fi violence and one of Carrie Fisher's costumes.
A good family movie.

Part VI Return of the Jedi

Luke has now learned the ways of the force through the Jedi master Yoda. Now he must battle the Evil Jabba the Hut.
This was actually my favorite out of the 3 original Star Wars movies that were released many many moons ago.
If you must buy these movies I recommend that you get all 6 to add to your DVD collection and get the DVD's. You'll see a lot of nice upgrades from the VHS version.

GREAT MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Star Wars Episode VI! "Luke, I am your father." Ha. This is a great movie! This the end of the trilogy and the REAL end to the saga, episode wise. Luke, has to defeat Vader once and for all. Darth Vader and the Emperor are having the Death Star rebuilt, and Luke and Leia have to save Han from Jabba the Hutt. This is not a movie to miss!!!!

Star Wars VI - Return Of The Jedi 2-Disc Limited Edition

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

What else great things can I say that haven't been said about this classic phenomenon! The reason I bought this is to add it to my all-time classic collection. Owning a piece of history and not to mention-a limited edition that exclusively has 2 versions of the movie that's not even in the blu-ray. Due to public (Fans of Star wars) overwhelming demand of the original version that was shown on theatres, George Lucas released it with the enhanced version in this out of print 2-disc set dvd.

Episode 6- A Real Treat!

This Star Wars classic is well written, and acted. The skill that Luke exhibits with his lightsaber and the Ewok Battle of Endor are thrilling to young and old alike. The movie soundtrack helps make the scenes come alive with action and feeling.

There is obvious battle violence, though not particularly bloody violence, peril tension and Princess Leah is at one point a bit scantily dressed (as the cover indicates), but overall, it is family appropriate (especially for boys).

The movie ends with good triumphing over evil.
