You remember the Disney classic Aladdin. The one with the villain who has a snake staff in his hand and a sarcastic red parrot on his shoulder. Remember how he got trapped ina black magic lamp at the end. Well, he's returned.
Jafar is back and out for revenge aginst the heroes. With a slapstick thief as his master and Iago having abandoned him, Jafar returns to Agrabah determined to make Aladdin pay in the worst possible manner. The ultimate powers of magic are at his command. He is more powerful than Genie, more cunning than the Magic Carpet, and more ruthless than ever. There is only one hope for the heroes: they can only be saved by Iago, Jafar's former partner in crime.
Featuring new songs, one of which is Jafar's villain song (something they didn't give to him in the first film): Nothing in the World, I'm Lookin' Out for Me, You're Only Second Rate (Jafar's one), and I Can't Forget About Love.
However, for Disney fans who admired Aladdin for its quality in animation will feel that this film is a bit of a letdown in that field. The background is not as spacious, character fluidity has slowed, and Robin Williams did not return to play the Genie in this film.
All in all, The Return of Jafar is a great for all those who love Disney's Aladdin saga, and for those who agree that he is one of the greatest film villains ever. Walt Disney's The Return of Jafar, it is not second rate.
The Return of Jafar is a less than impressive sequel to the original Aladdin movie. The story line isn't quite as catching and the movie just doesn't seem as interesting as the first.
I enjoy buying Disney movies for my children to watch with the entire family and not have to worry about foul language, nudity or violence. My girls enjoyed watching Alladin and wanted to watch The Return of Jafar as well. They thought it was great watching a movie in that a poor homeless young adult had a dream of changing his life and he acomplished his dream and never gave up even though there was a bad guy trying to take over the kingdom. Alladin was able to save the Kingdom for his new Father-in-law. Great movie the the entire family.
I was disappointed that the art seemed to be quite different from the first Aladdin. Everyone's face is drawn more coarsely, as is the Magic Carpet's design. There aren't as many songs, and they aren't as good, but what more can you expect from a sequel? This movie is pretty mediocre, with a good ending.
I love this movie. I cant wait to have the complete collection. But the main part I love is when jafar has jasmine hostage and aladdin goes to save her and she tries to seduce jafar.. Great movie. I get excited thinking about it.
