Classic Paul McCartney and Wings from 1973. This is the second Wings release and fourth of McCartney's since the break up of the Beatles. The album contains some good rockers as well as the beautiful song "My Love". The album spent three weeks at the number one spot of Billboards Top 100 albums. Only one single was released from the album. The touching tribute to Linda, "My Love" shot to number one on the US charts. The album is just fun. It's nice to listen to McCartney having fun again. For any McCartney or Beatle fan, this album is a must have.
If you're a diehard McCartney fan you already know this album. We owned the album in the 70's (vinyl) and I was so happy to find it on CD. Many great songs. Paul's love song to Linda, My Love. Little lamb dragonfly. Single Pigeon. And an awesome medley of Hold me tight, lazy dynamite, hands of love, and power cut. I've heard criticism on the early albums Paul and Linda did together, as well as the very early Wings albums. Don't believe it. If you love Paul and Linda's music you'll love this, as well as another early album, Wildlife.
Released in April 1973, only months before the super successful Band On The Run, and about a year and a half after its poorly selling predecessor Wild Life. Wild Life is Wings first release, and Speedway is Paul McCartney and Wings first release. The band is called Wings, but after the poor sales of their debut, all agreed to put Paul's name nice and big on the album. With Paul's name printed on the cover art and the success of the single My Love, it drove this album to number one.
I had the LP when it was new. I am replacing lost LPs with CDs. Always liked Mac, anyway. Great songs with few fillers. Think it's cool that he has a Harley motor on the cover, too.
