For the child of the 80's

I remember when this movie first came out. I was 12. The Cold War. Ronald Reagan. Russia and their "nukes". Remember doing nuke drills and hiding under your desk at school?
Aww then here comes Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen to save the day.
One crisp autumn morning Russian paratroopers suddenly drop out of the sky and begin to take over the US. Jed(Patrick Swayze) speeds up to the Highschool to get his little brother Matt(Charlie Sheen) and picks up a few extra boys trying to get out of harms way. They head for the hills where hopefully they'll be safe.
This movie has a young allstar cast of Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen, C. Thomas Howell, Lea Thompson and Jennifer Gray.
If you never got the chance to see this movie in 84 when it came out, now is as good as time as any to reminisce the days of the Cold War.

What do iI like: I have always liked Patrick Swayze's movies,
Sorry to hear how sick he is now .


What do I love : I can see how a situation like this could happen eventually
I like how the kids pull together to
accomplish what they have to do to
survive. I wonder how many teens today
might be willing to defend their
families,friends,and country ,
with their lives,or just
BE"RE-EDUCATED" to go along with the invasion forces.

I KNOW IT IS ONLY A MOVIE, HOLLYWOOD AND
ALL. This is a CAUTIONARY TALE of what WAR here could
look like. BUT MAKES YOU THINK , WHAT IF???

As a military veteran this movie to me essentially has
captured the STRESSES OF PATRIOTISM,
ALL THE EMOTIONS OF LOVE,
AND THE UTTER FUTILITY OF WAR....



What do I dislike: My daughter watched this and REALLY DIDN'T
like the ENDING,but thought it was an EXCELLENT
MOVIE.


Why did I buy it: I saw this movie sometime in the 90's and wanted
to see it again, one day my daughter came to visit
and asked me if I had ever seen it. I decided to
look on Ebay to buy it .

this is a must own for any 80s teen action movie lover, this film features all the famous and becoming famous actors and actresses like C. thomas howell, patrick swayze, charlie sheen, jennifer grey, lea thompson and others

this film is about WW3 and how forces from the other side of the world go against the united states, because they interfer their business, and how a group of kids who call themselves the wolverines (after their high school mascot) stand up against the enemy and fight to defend their land against foreign forces.

it overall has good acting, good story, great and memmorable scenes and its an all out 80s action movie


this special edition will have all the goodies that any collector would want in an dvd

this movie is excellent, if you love war films and can appreciate a good embelishment or fantasy esc twist than this is a movie you want to watch. a quick synopsis, a group of brothers camping find there country being invaded over night by communists, armed with hunting rifles they fight to free there home town.
