Pushing Daisies - Season 2:
What can one say? Having the ability to bring one's childhood sweetheart back from the dead has both it's advantages and disadvantages, knowing that (like real life) there are always the "laws and rules" one must follow to keep situations from getting out of control.
Although Ned "the Pie Maker" uses this gift for profit, in the end it also serves justice and solves the murder mystery (which many times is not murder, but strange coincidences and circumstances often resulting in that person's untimely demise).
I enjoyed the first Season (until it wasn't shown - due to the writer's guild issue) immensely with all of it's colorful use of background, attire, verbiage, and most importantly - it's narration. The documentary-style episodes are just genious and the fact that they re-cap for those that have never watched one episode is a wonderful thing (which helps me watch with friends who haven't seen any or many before).
All-in-all, I do hope that this series continues for many seasons, since it definitely still "lives on" within our home...
If you loved this TV program and sorry it got cancelled, you'll want to own this DVD. This DVD of the second and final season of Pushing Daisies is packed with edgy plots, unique old and new characters, answers to what happens to Ned and Chuck, and (my personal favorite reason) more musical scenes, especially by Kristin Chenoweth. Buy it today before it's all gone!
I am as happy with the second season as I was with the first. "Pushing Daisies" is unique, and wonderful.
I knew from the beginning of the series that I would buy it. I don't own copies of most things I watch, but this one is different. So much happens in each episode that it's easy to miss some of the details.
There is nothing I dislike about the DVDs except that the complete second season should have lasted much longer.
The special features are wonderful. It is interesting to see how some of the awesome visual effects came to be on screen.
"Pushing Daisies" is a delightful series, and I'm very happy to own the complete series. If I can't go to The Pie Hole in person, this is a pretty good substitute. Enjoy!
this series ended way too soon. i was so happy to have season 2 to add to my collection. i have been waiting to see more of the episodes with singing and to continue the antics of the "gang". i especially love when olive gets involved in the mysteries. she and emerson work really well together
Pushing daisies as we all know was a victim of the writers strike. The first season was 9 episodes long and the second was 12. I have both seasons, i enjoy the second season as much as the first. I bought them from ebay after finding them for $14.99 each on bluray from amazon, only to go on the next day to buy them, and them and the price was back up to $29.99. If they were full seasons i could see the price. I would for principles sake not pay over $20.00 each season. if you are looking at a pushing daisies review you already know how good the show is. go ahead, buy it.
