Prince Of Persia: The Sands of Time (Playstation 2)
Created: 05/21/08
What can I say that hasn't already been said of this game. It truely is in a class with other greats such as God of War, it has great graphics and an entertaining storyline. The controls are so easy and intuitive an 10 year old can pick up the controller and know them all after about 5 minutes of play, yet it is still challenging and enjoyable for adults as well and doesn't feature the nudity and violence present in the aforementioned game. The main character's acrobatic style is fun and one of the main reason this game is so great. I highly recommend purchasing this game. Instructions aren't all that necessary because they are all shown to the player in the start of the game. So even if the game your looking to buy doesn't include them don't feel discouraged. So buy this game and unplug the phone, seeing as you will be hooked and addicted to this title for many hours after popping it in your PS2.

I have to say when I played the first 30min of th game I wasn't overall too impressed. As a matter of fact at that point I would have rated it a 7.5 out of 10.
After that I didn't touch the game for about 2 months, and then last week I popped it back in. After the "tutorial" area, the game starts shining. As you learn more moves, and you see new setups that can use the new arsenal of moves on, things get interesting. You can run on walls, run up walls, run up walls do a jump off of the wall, etc....
The graphics on the game are good, but not great. The character graphics are just ok, but the environment is nice, and at points plain beautiful. The FMVs are also good quality. I like the fact also that you can play it on 480p. The game looks much better on my LCD TV on 480p. As for enemies there really aren't that many different type of enemies. As a matter of fact there are just a couple of different enemies which lead to a rather bland combat system. But then again for me this game wasn't about fighting enemies, but exploration and having fun getting from point A to point B using your moves. At points I thought they should have just removed the combat if they hadn't planned on actually giving it depth, and substance. I mean fighting 6-8 different types of enemies excluding bosses through an entire game, with a limited number of things you can do is just very boring.
As for the sound the voice acting is very good. The background music is good. And the sounds are Ok.
As for value I think this game is a game you may end up playing more than once. It's definitely very fun. And add to that the Easter Egg of having Prince of Persia the original game in there, and you have a great game with decent replayability, and an extra game which sum up for a good value overall.
Anyway I recommend this game. It's very good, and with a few tweaks it could have been perfect. At this point in time I liked the game enough to prompt me to go buy the two sequels :)

The game was purchased as a gift and provided hours of good entertainment. The graphics are good. The blood from killing the bd guys doesnt look very real, so I was pleased with that part. My 10 yr old does not like gorey grafix. The game provided alot of on screen assistance to get through each level. Was very happy with this purchase. Will very likely buy the next game in the series.

Review For: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (Xbox, 2003)
Great product. This one beats all the odds of the old 16 bit PC game. This is far superior and the difficulty increases as you advance in the game.
The best game i've played till now. I dont mind saying that even though i crossed 28, i love this all the more. I am eagerly waiting for the Nov 2008 release of the third version.

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time definitely exceeds my expectations. Not only are the graphics and detail in this game stunning, but it also has a great adventure storyline, though I must warn you that practically throughout the whole game, this very annoying "Princess" will follow you. But don't worry, just run far a head of her, so when she starts talking you cut her off. Fighting in this game is also a lot of fun, but kind of easy, which is a good thing also. After you get the special dagger, the game starts getting better, you'll need it to stab enemies after combat to finish them off, you'll get a special abillity which lets you kill all the enimies in a room in seconds. Swinging from spikes hanging from a roof, flipping from pole to pole, to running along walls, this game keeps you entertained for as long as you play it, each time. This definitely isn't a waste of money, after you beat it, you'll still have this urge to beat it one more time.
