I bought this camera to take pictures of g'kids, car shows, vacationn too.
Great camera. Takes really nice pics. If you are looking for a point n click, with a nice zoom, this one would be perfect.
ONLY thing BAD__ they dont tell ya how to load paper, says to keep that blue on bottom or not work, PRINTER kicks blue out but will NOT,,NOT print a picture. change it around several times, NO PICS PRINTING<<<bad, bad,
The printer makes crisp, colorful 2" x 3" prints. There is no ink cartridges to replace, just the paper. It is great for portraits, but the pictures are too small for much else. The user manual says it is only good for about 8 prints between charges. And while the printer is small, the charger is bigger then the printer... too bad. The print paper has a peal off backing that turns the picture into a "post-it-note" for easy display.
The prints are ready in about a minute (and are completely dry) and slip nicely into the picture section of a wallet, making this a good toy for family gatherings or trips to Disneyland. This will not replace your regular photo printer, but it is great fun to have an "instant" print just like the old days when the Polaroid Cameras were brand new (and only printed in black and white). Obviously, I have used a lot of cameras and photo printers over the last 45 years, and I like this one!
I loved my old Polaroid and anxiously awaited this new generation.
The new PoGo camera is very user friendly, comfortable to hold, and the picture quality is quite good. I am still adjusting to the smaller size of picture (2" by 3") but like the choice of having a sticky back or not. My pictures are turning out a bit too dark so I still need to experiment. There are several flash options (new). Loading the film is very easy.
My only complaint is purchasing ZINK paper that is not expired or close to its expiration date. My local Target store simply shrugged their shoulders and said that hardly anyone buys it (theirs all expired 06/09). Most ZINK paper on eBay has the same expiration dilemma. Hopefully, now that the PoGo camera is finally on the market, this will be solved.
I am a big fan of Polaroid.I used the Captiva for over 20 years.
Great camera. One problem hard to find film. The Polaroid Pogo camera
is in a word "FANTASTIC".Easy to use. Many features.Great ZINK paper.
I attend many conventions. The San Diego Comic Convention for the last
36 years. The POGO Polaroid will be there to capture the event.
One problem the local stores Target and Best Buy do not carry the
camera? Only printer and paper.I purchased the Polaroid Pogo camera
on Ebay.I contacted the local stores about carrying the Pogo camera.
Via there website. They told that they did not think the camea would
sell in the stores. My reply was if you do not carry it how can you
I read many of the reviews and was very hesitant after reading them on if I should spend this much money on a new camera. Many of the reviews were very negative that I read. However I think those people were just expecting something else maybe.
I bought my last camera on sale for only $70 and loved it. This time though I was looking for a camera that would work great and print. This is the only one that does that. I would say that polaroid has done it again.
I cannot wait to use this at my wedding to have the guest create an interactive sign in book; as well as next year with my class for science fair so they can take pictures of their observations and print out the pictures right then and there...no waiting for their teacher to go home and print it. So cool. The pictures are clear but small. But instant! So it's perfect! :) I am very happy with it.
