Poirot - 36 episodes

I want the initial joy of this great collection to last Forever!! so, i've only seen about 7 episodes in 3 weeks. still gluttonous by some measures!! This set rounds off my other two full length movie sets: The A&E Definitive Collection & the Acorn Classic Collection. These Agatha Christie characters are always fresh to me, Poirot, Hastings, Ms. Lemon & Japp of Scotland Yard & i love spending my time with them. it is amazing to me how luxuriously these episodes are filmed: the 1930's period costumes, art deco, color palettes, quaint villages with stone bridges, London scenes, architecture, trains, horses, carriages, - the details make owning this set well worth the money! one episode i watched recently called "The Cornish Mystery" has Poirot riding a bicycle wearing . . handyman type clothing (a disguise) & desirous to try his hand at crime while he goes about solving a crime (and gets caught!). a delight. The more i watch episodes from my collection, the more i appreciate the amazing details wrought within every scene and the finesse of the actors.

Excellent 2-hour Poirot Episode Collection

Neither the Acorn Media web site, Nor the Amazon do a good job of explaining what this collection is. These are all 2 hour (approx) Poirot episodes from either created for Masterpiece Theater or from the time Poirot was regularly on television. Most of these have been avaiable separately, or in three-episode collections. If you own the "Classic" collection, this collection would complete that set. These are much better than the Poirot "movies" that were made later. Because these episodes are longer, the allow more mystery (as well as humor) to be injected into the plots. I am no expert of the Christy books, but I believe most of these are, in fact, based on books. Each disc contains one episode. There are nine discs.

A must for any Hercule Poirot watcher.

This has to be one of the best sets anywhere. David Suchet at his very best like no other actor he keeps you spellbound. The quality was the greatest and with DVD you have the convenience of the cinema snack and never miss a single word. Once you own this set like so many others it provides hours of pleasure for years to come. To our family it is an investment in entertainment. We have purchased both Classic Collections with the utmost satisfaction. If you like Hercule Poirot it is a must of all the Poirot Movies these have to rank in the very top of the list. I have watched and own ( all the Poirot that David Suchet played in ) to my knowledge. And this Collection is some of the very best movies.

Big Poirot Fan

The first set to start with is the 12 DVD set, because those are 36 episodes. This would be the 2nd collection to get. This one is 9 longer episodes and 1 special features DVD if I have it right, but it's still a great collection. As a poirot fan, I think all the early ones were great. The episodes began to lose their charm around 2004 or 2005, but this collection were all filmed before 2000 and all are very good.

Love the programs and just would like movies made of all 75 stories. Poirot is my favorite detective from the best writter of all time Agatha Christie.
