I WATCHED THIS MOVIE WHEN I WAS LITTLE. ACTUALLY AN ADULT CARTOON WITH A KIDS MESSAGE. I BOUGHT IT BECAUSE I WANTED MY NEPHEW AND NIECE TO SEE IT. IT IS ABOUT A BOY WHO IS DIFFERENT FROM EVERYONE ELSE, HE HAS A POINT ON HIS HEAD, AND IS MADE FUN OF AND BANISHED FROM HIS HOME HIS DOG ARROW IS FORCED TO GO WITH HIM AS WELL. HE GOES ON INCREDIBLE JOURNEYS AND COMES FINDS HIS WAY BACK HOME. HE EXPLAINS TO EVERYONE THAT EVEN THOUGH HE LOOKS DIFFERENT FROM EVERYONE ELSE, EVERYONE IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT NO MATTER IF THEY LOOK THE SAME OR NOT. GREAT MOVIE TO TEACH KIDS ABOUT RESPECTING OTHERS. NARRATED BY RINGO STARR AND ALL SONGS ARE SUPERBLY DONE BY HARRY NILSSON.
A film I watched as a young child on VCR, which seems is fast becoming vintage
classic 70s, highly colorful animated film, with great soundtrack, all by Harry Nilsson, and narrated by Ringo Starr
It's great to have it on DVD, region 0 as well, so I can play it anywhere
highly recommended, mind bending amination.
I love it
I don't want to give anything away, but how can you go wrong with Ringo Starr as a Narrator and Harry Nilsson as the music writer and performer? YOU CAN'T!!!
This is an incredible film for children as well as adults. I prefer to relax with a little help from my friend and journey into the incredible world of "The Pointless Forest" with Oblio and his trusty pal (his dog) Arrow.
You will enjoy this film!
This delightful animated movie is still as delightful today as it was when it was created. The lessons contained, about everyone having a point, are no less meaningful in today's world. Songs by Harry Nilsson have lost nothing over time, and we sing along with the characters as we watch again and again. It's appropriate for little children as well as senior citizens, so don't miss this wonderful movie!
If you are from the 1960's to the 1970's, you will totally love this old classic cartoon. I remember as a child watching this movie and loving it. The story is a fable about a town where everything and everybody has a point on their head except one small boy that has a round head and is treated terribly and banned from the town. The story has a good point (pardon the pun)that the people who wrote this movie are trying to teach who sees the movie. Basically everyone, regardless of what they look like, has worth and value and we can learn from anybody, even the odd ones. Nicely written and real mod, crazy creatures throughout, which makes sense for the time period it was written and produced. Kind of reminds me of Yellow Submarine with all the crazy creatures and the far out colors used. I'm not real sure how "todays" kids will handle this cartoon. It doesn't have violence, nor any of the fancy, up to date cartooning like they do today and maybe a little slow with not a lot of action scenes, so I would probably not purchase for young kids of today. This movie is more for us adults that saw it in the 70's.
