If you're a wildlife documentary fan then you need no introduction to BBC documentaries. Following on, and improving on, myriad groundbreaking documentaries and series are Planet Earth/The Blue Planet: Seas of Life.
Now, with most things having been done or seen in previous series, there is not much that is groundbreaking but nonetheless this is a great collection for anyone to see at least once, if not own.
Everything is professionally done and breathtaking at times.
Given the monumental task of their subject matter, that is, life on earth and in the seas, BBC tries admirably to try and cover as much as possible in the best possible way to convey as complete a mosaic as possible on its subject matter. At times, it may not do justice but no one can complain that they did not put enough effort into it.
Subject matter aside, the collection is a very good set to keep as something to dig up and watch again or as a present.
Overall, a great collection.
This set of DVD's was mainly bought to give my son 2years old,
something meaningful to watch.
I can just say that he loves it more than ever could been expected.
Actually everyone I know of has loved to watch any part of it, including myself.
It's an incredible collection with highly educational value content about nature, wildlife and our wonderful planet.
Everything is presented in such a beautiful and easy to follow and understandable way.
The way it's filmed and produced makes you feel you're almost "there".
Sir David Frederick Attenborough just is the perfect voice for documentaries like Planet Earth.
This set of DVD's I can recommend to anybody, it would surprise me if someone
for any reason didn't love it.
In my opinion it should be obligatory for kids to see all of these DVD's, before the age of 6. In my opinion It's just so developing to watch.
Planet Earth/The Blue Planet:Seas of Life is the most in depth view of our planet that you will ever see. I watched it on TV before and always wanted the dvd's. The stores still sell these separately for $40-$50 each. When I saw both of them together for this price. I didn't waste anytime ordering a set. I have already watched both complete series since I received them. I think they were even better the second time. All of the dvd's played perfectly. They were a used set when I bought them. The box had very minor wear on it. But the cases and especially the dvd's were flawless. Not a scuff or scratch to be found. So, yes, I highly recommend this series if you have not seen it before.
My mother had wanted the DVD series Planet Earth for some time so I wanted to see if I could get it for her for Christmas. I had no idea that there was a Blue Planet series as well, and turns out I got both for the same price as some were selling Planet Earth alone! They are amazing DVDs, buyers will not be disappointed. Adds greatly to any DVD collection at home, or a gift for someone! The episodes are so fascinating I can't believe I'm learning something at the same time!
