Phenomenol Feel and Playibility!

Golf equipment purchasing boils down to personal choice and what feels right for you. For me,the Ping Zing 2 putter works. The new stuff on the market looks like something from a Star Trek movie. Putting all aesthetics aside this putter has all the right attributes. Weighted nicely, doesn't feel heavy, nor exceptionally light, plus it has classic good looks. Like they say often imitated, but nothing is like an original. Just like other master craftsmen and other pieces of art, Karsten Solheim, was a genius and their probably will not be another like him. His legacy enabled the masses to enjoy the game. The putter works for both genders equally well. Everyone knows though, putting is not about physical strength but it mostly involves touch and technique.

A timeless classic

The Ping Zing 2 Putter is a solid putter that has been around for many years. It is a heel-toe weighted model with no face insert on the older models and different insert materials on the newer models depending on the year of purchase. Face inserts change the feel and sound of the putter. They are a matter of personal preference. I like the smooth lines and weighting of the Zing. I prefer the solid feel of no insert.

Returning to golf after 20 years, I want a good putter. I didn't want to pay $350 for a Scotty Cameron yet, because I don't know enough to make a good decision now. I purchased four used $30-$60 PING putters on eBay and new $55-$90 Oddyssey, PING, and Wilson/Staff putters. I've used them quite a bit on the family room carpet, (It's Winter in Northern Michigan.) and for me the PING Zing 2 putter is a very good putter. It has many of the design features, materials, and characteristics of much more expensive putters. It is not the best for me, with my current putting style, but I'll keep the PING Zing 2, in case I learn a better putting stroke for which this putter works best. I'm sure it's a 10 on the 10-point scale for many golfers.

Great putter, good feel.

Ping putters are top of the line even if you buy them used. Most all golfers will take good care of their putters. No Matter how good you can hit your drivers or fairway irons if you don,t have a good putter around the greens it will cost you strokes.

Classic heal/toe putter - great weight, great lie, great feel... really solid. I used this putter as a junior golfer, years ago, then saw one for sale on e-bay for a ridiculously good price, bought it, and all the old feelings of unobstructed, no-mind junior putting came flooding back, so for now, the Scotty Cameron is in the garage and the old PING ZING 2 is in the bag...
