| The Ping Rapture Hybrid Fairway Wood Golf Club uses a combination of a 475 super steel face, a 17-4 stainless steel body, and a high density tungsten nickel sole to deliver the most optimum hybrid fairway wood performance. The high density tungsten nickel sole and the sloped crown design ensure that the center of gravity (CG) remains low; this enables a higher initial launch trajectory and lower spin, and consequently yields longer, straighter shots with a higher carry distance. The responsive super steel face used in Ping Rapture Hybrid Fairway Wood Golf Club ensures improved initial ball velocity and consequently, longer distance. Furthermore, the Ping Rapture Hybrid Fairway Wood Golf Club has been designed using a Cray supercomputer to ensure improved structural integrity and better performance. | |

Perfect club to me! I seriously was able to get more pars and decreased the score! My new Ping Rapture Hybrid Fairway Wood golf club (well....even though I bought the used one) really corrected its ball direction (it really goes straight). I almost gave up hitting fairway wood because of the direction, but Ping Rapture Hybrid Fairway wood gave me a lot of motivation and confidence! Right after getting this club, I grabbed my sticks and went to range. It was wonderful to me!
I bought the Rapture to replace another 18 degree hybrid, initially because I liked the design. I thought the clubhead shape would increase the launch angle and thus giving me a higher trajectory and softer landing when hitting into par 5's on my second shot. I was delighted to find that the club is pretty easy to control & hit lower off the Tee on short. tight par 4's if played a little back in your stance. Overall, I give it a two thumbs up for not only being easy to hit & quite forgiving for a game improvement club but it is also a useful weapon in the hands of a single digit handicapper.
I love this club as it has brought a whole new dimension to my game. I was the guy who couldn't consistantly hit a fairway wood and would end up using only irons after the tee shot due to this fact. I used this exact club when borrowing from a friend and with minimal effort hit it just as far as a smashing iron shot, which I would have had to swing the iron much harder for similar results.
I hope I have the same results with this club, and I should as it is identical to the one my friend has, as I haven't used it yet seeing how I bought it this winter and haven't had a chance to test drive it yet. The best part is that I bought it new plus shipping on ebay and it was less than half the price my friend paid to a local golf shop.
This is an excellent golf club. It has a great feels, is nicely weighted, and swings smoothly. I owned a 21 degree Ping Raptue hybrid which helped me to hit the ball straight and consistent distancel. I loved the feel of the club and the success I enjoyed with it so I wanted the 24 degree as well. In my opinion, hybrids are clearly the way to go in preference to long irons or high-numbered fairway woods.
I've decided to join the hybrid club wave, yea Im behind the times, and since I have ping irons I've decided to stick with ping for my woods and hybrids. The only thing I've changed was going from a reg flex shaft to a stiff flex and has my accuracy, distance and game changed all for the better. Im now looking for a new ping driver but I'll have to save a bit with the prices Im seeing.
