I'm a somewhat arthritic 65 year old who finally realized a 9.5 degree driver with stiff shaft was no friend of mine. A new club fitting at Ping here in Phoenix indicated it was time to move to a soft regular and 12 degree loft.
What a difference! Im not going to make any wild claims of instant 300 yard drives, but a solid hit now goes high, straight and 250+. My game is not such that I worry about "working" intentional draws and fades so I'm very happy with a club that helps with getting the ball down the middle.
The Ping K15 driver was (is) rated as one of the best game improvement drivers by Golf magazine testers. I tried it and my slicing banana shots were reduced to mere straight pushes. Even on mis-hits, the shots seem to have respectable distance and were fairly straight. Also, the feel of the club was nice; not a harsh sharp shocking feel, but more of a absorbing and then slinging shot of the ball. My hands and wrist appreciated that! Also, I think my distance improved (could be due to the straighting of the shots); even though that is difficult to ascertain because of the difficulty of measuring the exact distance on the driving range I use. Nonetheless, with this club, I feel more confident and can swing freer and seem to generate a little more club head speed.
I'm a 66 year old golfer who started playing eight years ago. I've used a 13 degree/regular flex driver for approximately four years before switching to a 9.5 degree/stiff shafted driver last year I found that the 9.5 degree driver was a little too extreme.
My local instructor analyzed my golf swing and recommended a 10.5 degree/regular flex driver. I had heard a lot of good things about the Ping driver, and since I carry Ping irons I decided to give it a try. Immediately, I found that my drives were straighter, longer, and easier to hit with the Ping. I even found that it was easier to hit the draw with the K15 driver.
I am extremely happy with my purchase, and would highly recommend this product for those with a mid-teens handicap like mine.
If you want to hit a golf ball long and straight you have to test out the Ping K 15 Driver. I hit this club as far as farther then any club I have ever owned. I am in my 70's and outdrive most of my younger opponents. This is a game improvement club and is not as workable as a Ping G 15 Driver as I own one of these as well. Both of my drivers are 10.5 degrees as I hit the ball high. With the ebay guarantee and the ability to verify SN's with Ping Golf Clubs its a no brainer to save money and purchase these clubs on EBay.
I am a 51 year old mid-high handicap golfer with a typical slice when I hit the driver. I recently purchased a used Ping K15 driver (10.5* regular flex shaft) off of eBay and used it at the driving range for the first time yesterday. I have always struggled with a slice and have tried numerous clubs in an attempt to help (I now know lessons are in order). Although I continued to struggle with my slice while using the K15 on the driving range, my slice was not nearly as frequent or as severe as it usually is. When I did hit this club the way it is supposed to be hit, it produced a very straight ball flight. I was actually able to draw some of my drives also, which I have never been able to do before. I do have to get used to playing with a regular flex shaft again as well, since I have been using a stiff flex shaft to help with the slice on my old drivers(I gave up alot of distance with the stiff flex, though). I will continue to work with the Ping K15, as I am sure it will help me in my quest to hit the ball straight. This is a very nice club and should help me in the long run.
