About the Manufacturer
Engineer and inventor Karsten Solheim got his start as an engineer working for GE in Ithaca, New York. His passion for the game set him on a journey to create a better putter. At the time he thought he was simply building it for his own personal use, but in 1959, Karsten’s ongoing garage experiments yielded an innovative putter he called 1A design. This putter had very distinctive design qualities, among them, a unique tone at impact, a sound that would echo throughout the game for generations to come…“Ping.” The Anser putter began a long and proud history of truly innovative equipment design throughout Ping’s entire product line (ultimately resulting in over 400 patents) that has set Ping at the top of the list of golf design and manufacturing companies. The company is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. Karsten Solheim has passed away and his son John has taken the helm.

) These clubs, long known for their forgivability, still play strong and feel great. As a beginner to the sport, a friend reccomended getting used clubs to start with. I found some Ping Eye 2 clubs at the flea market and re-gripped them. I started with a 9 iron. What a great club! I hope in heaven all golf shots are a 9 iron! Since then i've picked up a few more on Ebay. Ebay is one of the few places I found single Pings of a particular angle (red dot) in good shape. I now have 5-SW and am very satisfied. I don't see myself trading them in any time soon.

) Needless to say, in my opinion Ping makes some of the best irons (and putters) in the industry. Throughout history the company (Karsten) has been at the front with innovative ideas and technologies. This particular iron was purchased to complete a set that was missing the 8. I love the feel of the club, the way it sets up, and above all, the length and feel of the hit. This Eye 2 club is very forgiving for any golfer. It is hard to believe that this club can be improved upon. I know Eye 2's are old, but I just love to hit them. Did I say that they are beautiful irons? Terrific looks.
Love ping irons

I lost my beloved one iron to rock hidden just under the fairway grass. The ball went one way and the club head went sailing into the pond. I am very pleased with the quality of this used ping one iron.
The grip even matches the other clubs in my set of ping irons.
I have been playing with ping irons for several years and personally think there are none better.
When you make that perfect swing and perfect contact, you don't have to look for the ball because the sound a ping club makes just lets you know that the ball is heading for the hole.

Ping Eye 2 Golf Clubs

I have been playing Ping eye 2+ irons since I purchased my first used set, 25 years ago. These are great irons but my original #5 iron's shaft broke off in the hosel. Local golf shops didn't want to work on the tapered shaft, and Ping would fix it for $30-$35 plus shipping both ways. While this replacement doesn't match my set's serial numbers, it is a great iron, now in my bag! Since these clubs were made, the only other irons I would consider are the early 2000 - 2003 Callaway HawkEye irons. As long as I can keep hitting these well, I will continue to enjoy (IMHO) the best irons Ping made!

) great club, rare find (two patent numbers - original square groove design)... difficult to find this particular version of the original ping eye 2, one of the best selling (if not the best selling) clubs ever.
