I decided to buy this audio book because I really enjoy novels by Ken Follett, but do not have the time to sit and read his books. So, I listen to them on audio books while I drive or while I work around the house. This makes the tasks less burdensome and I get to enjoy the books I love.
I enjoy historical novels, and this book is different from most of Follett's books in that it is set in Mediaeval Times in England. It is exciting and interesting, so that I hate to turn it off and then, can't wait to get back to it! I highly recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys history and/or Ken Follett.
If you like stories about the 12 and 13th Century with Kings and Queens, and the way things were back then with Monks, Priests, Bishops, Churches, greedy people and romance, you'll love this book.
I love the story, keeps you turning the pages - he is a brilliant author. I purchased the speaking book for my mother - I am sure she will enjoy it as I did. Its a bit of a tomb to get through and rather heavy to hold and the print is smallish, so the speaking book will be ideal.
Great book but didn't realize it was abridged. Read/listen to the unabridged if possible! This book keeps you spellbound and when you get close to the end you won't want to finish it because then there is nothing else to read!
