This is my 2nd pair of Philips SHE9500. I simply wore my 1st pair out by using them hard and storing them poorly.
I like the Philips SHE9500 for three reasons:
1. I find that regular iPod ear buds simply won't stay put in my ears so I really like the 3 sets of ear buds (small, medium, large) which allows me to customize the fit. They stay put even when running and exercising.
2. I am not an audiophile so I am not looking for perfection in sound. The Philips SHE9500 sound good to me.
3. The feature which I particularly love is the way I can shorten or lengthen the cord. A section ~26inches long can be removed. This allows me to have far less cord tangling when I clip my mp3 player to my collar or drop it in my shirt pocket. This makes these phones great for both active use and for when I am working at my desk.
The sound is great. Bass is actually full and rich with good recordings. You can pick up lots of others sounds, notes, etc. never noticed before. Probably, the best sounding earphones yet. Surrounding sounds are blocked out fairly well. Good fit and comes w/ 3 different sized ear pieces & case for them, along with carrying bag. Great bargain if you can get them @ a low price(under $10). Good specs for db(loudness) and frequency range.
Cons:sometimes the cord feels awkward or gets caught on something. Not too sure how to make out of it yet but cord comes w/ 2 pieces (ext), kind of odd to get use to for now.
The Philips SHE9500 is an excellent headphone. The sound is really good, thanks to the great bass boost, and it has a cool design too. The isolation is good but it could be better if the phones was a little bit smaller to fit more inside the ears. Overall, the Philips SHE9500 is a good choice to rear you favorite songs with a high quality sound.
They're not bad. At least they don't sound like they are plugging up my ears or that I am listening through a tunnel. The sound is not stressing on my ears, and after several hours my head isn't suffering from sound fatigue.
The rubber seals do ok, but my ears take the smallest size. They feel a tad loose or insecure, however my ears are sealed and background noise is substantially quieted. The next size up of seal makes my head feel like it's going to explode, so I don't use them. The small size works good for me and I can go a full 8 hour work day with them in without discomfort.
The highs are high, the mids are good, the bass is not absent, but not strong either. I wish they produced better bass. I'm told that Phillips does make a model of SHE9500 that does produce bass, (I have a friend who bought some purple or maroon ones from Shopko,) and says they sound awesome. Mine are black and silver.
I haven't broken them yet, both sides still sound the same and it's been a couple of months I think. I am trying to be careful, however, if they so short out on me I won't feel too bad since I spent so little.
I think my only real CON toward them is that when they are in my ears, the stiffer plastic housing around the cord on the earpiece itself makes the cable stick out sideways a little. I like my cords to drop straight down from my ears, not out and down. But oh well.
For the less than $9.00 that I spent on them, they are everything and more that I could ask for for the price. I am no audiophile, and would never want the stress and/or cost associated with being one.
Good product! Beautiful packaging.
Headphones with beautiful and futuristic design.
Very nice finish, good sound!
- Bag for storing headphones.
- Storage box ruber caps.
- Use headphones to ride a bike, the original cable is very
short, when I put the extension is too long.
- Rubes caps insist on leaving the ear.
Overall I think a good product, would buy again.
