Camera is almost the same size as the K-r; weighs just a bit more, due to weather resistant build. I am getting great photos right from the gate!

It has TONS of features, and there is a learning curve, but that's the fun of it too!

I bought the K5 three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this digital camera. What impressed me most is the all weather resistance of the unit.

The quality of the photos is steel better than the ones taken with the K7 probably because the more than 16 MP sensor.

I bought the Pentax because its compatibility with my existent Pentax lenses. If not I will give the new Nikon D7000 a closer look.

I've been a long time olympus dslr user and needed a weatherproof cam. I decided to go out on a limb despite the fact that I have an arsenal of olympus lenses and purchase the pentax K5 instead of the Olympus E5 which would have been an upgrade from my E3. I can't compare the Olympus E5 to the K5 but the K5 absolutely blows my E3 out of the water so to speak in terms of detail and
stellar high ISO performance. I sold all my olympus gear on ebay. I'm extremely happy with this camera. I think its the best out there .... period!
