The Pantech Ease has a beautiful capacitive touch-screen display and a sturdy slider QWERTY keyboard. It has two modes: the Easy mode is cleverly designed for cell phone novices and senior citizens; advanced users will like the 2-megapixel camera, music player, and 3G speeds. Call quality is great thanks to a noise suppression technology.
We understand the need to separate different features for Easy and Advanced modes, but we sometimes find the categorization to be arbitrary. For example, a pill reminder and pedometer aren't available in Advanced mode, and notepad and stopwatch aren't in Easy mode.
Though we have a few quibbles with it, the Pantech Ease is overall a smart hybrid that will please both grandparents and grandchildren alike.

Overall I am happy with this phone. I was looking for a phone with a quirty keyboard that would allow me to email easier. It does that and it is pretty easy to use in that way. I like that it can be used in advanced mode or easy mode. It doesn't make sense that some of the functions like pedometer only works in easy mode. Keep in mind it is not a smart phone, but it is smarter than my old razer. I really liked the Samsung similar model with an easy to use keyboard but the email type was way to small. The type for this phone can be adjusted and is really great. also my husbands iphone 4 has such a quiet alert of emails that he misses some. My phone is great, email and voice mail alerts can be adjusted to variety of levels and they don't just send one notification, it continues to do so until acknowledged. I am still learning the functions and would really like if I could entter my contacts in the computer and have it talk to my phone rather than the tedious process of entering all the info by hand. Since the razor would not let you have more than one number per person per entry, I have to reenter all date into one location. (at least it appears I have to - I asked an AT&T person and they said that was the only way, but I think I will ask another. The battery life really sucks, cannot get thru one day without it dying (completely if used any length of time). I plan to buy another battery to see if it helps. for now I keep a charger handy. Overall I would recommend this phone as an interim phone (great price from the ebay vendor ($115) but not AT&T's price until they come out with smart phone that does what this does but better.
Been a Pantech users for several models. Pleased with overall quality and function but not happy with User Guide or Tech Support. Lots of features and function poorly documented. No Rhyme or reason to menu changes and poor continuity from prior models .. Breeze line for one.
The phone really is quite a value considering AT&T sells them for $269.00 I got mine off Ebay for $79 barely used and went and bought the (2) year ext warranty that came available with it. I couldnt be happier. Especialy because Im not a "high" tech savy guy so the phone to me is "very" high tech. It responds to the internet rather quickly when needed, the texting is incredible as this phones engineered around its texting Ease. It has Tons of features for the money and if I Lost it, I would turn around and buy another one ! There are (2) modes to this phone an Advanced and a simplified mode. The Advanced I highly recommend, it will get you the most bang for your buck out of the phone, in other words many more features. I recommend this phone! 4 stars out of 5 !
First thing, The pantech ease is not for the elderly. Yes it has a setting for ease of use. In this mode all buttons are extra large. A lot of the menus are dummied down. But there is advanced mode. Advance mode turns the Pantech ease into a touch Phone with a great keyboard. And enough apps to compete with the average phone. It is a 3g and I havent been able to use the web on it because of expenses. It has a built in camera 2 megapixels I dont think it has zoom and have a hard time getting a good pic. Everything is just too far away. The picture quality is good though.
Cons: the touch screen is tricky sometimes. I find it hard to switch screens on the main screen 1 of 3. the menu screen though works well and the sub screens work well. I have trouble again some times in note pad. there's blind spots on the touch screen in note pad. The speakers are quiet too. although I like the initial choices for ring tones they sound great.
So not a picture phone, speakers are not loud, haven't tried the web, great for texting, calls sound clear, overall a good phone.
I was looking for an affordable qwerty slider and this fit my needs. I use my tmobile sim card in it, no problems however I can't get on the 3G network or receive/send picture messages. This isn't the phone's fault though but a mere complication when using unlocked phones. Texting is great, the main reason I bought the phone. For a used phone it was in great condition, looks new. I was using the Samsung Behold before which had an awesome camera but the OS was worse than this phone. Swiping around home screens doesn't always work right away but its still a very cool feature. I wish the locking mechanism was different or worked better, perhaps mine is faulty due to being used. Sometimes the sliding lock gets stuck so i have to wait for the phone to dim and go to standby. But I've learned to cope. I love threaded texting! Camera is nothing special but if you want a sleek phone you can text your heart out on this is a great buy. Something I wasn't expecting but is very important is the phone call quality. Its great! much better than my samsung. I was surprised how clear my first call was and angry that I thought my samsung call quality was the norm. Because I'm not on att I can't say much about the apps since I can't use them.
