THE GOOD
Relatively inexpensive; excellent black-level performance; solid connectivity with three HDMI and two component-video inputs.
THE BAD
Inaccurate primary colors of green and red; faint diagonal lines visible in lighter areas; sparse picture controls; less efficient than similar LCDs.
THE BOTTOM LINE
Although it requires more than a few picture quality trade-offs, the Panasonic TC-P50X1 delivers the best black-levels-to-dollars ratio of any HDTV we've tested.

I had shopped around for about 8 months or so, at all the major stores, then I checked with Consumer Reports, that only made me more confused about what to purchase., then I bought a Sanyo Plasma 50 in, that was a BAD Mistake, the colors were awful!! Then I tried a Sony, which was well over rated, not very good also!! Then I searched Panasonic on ebay, I bought this 50 inch Panasonic on ebay, WOW!!, This Set IS FANTASTIK!!, From the time I "CLICKED TO BUY IT, THEN JUST FEW DAYS LATER IT WAS DELIVERED BY LOCAL FRIEGHT COMPANY, TO HOOKING IT UP, THIS SET HAS THE MOST BREATH TAKING PICTURE"!!! IVE NEVER BOUGHT ANYTHING OFF EBAY FROM A SELLER, THAT DID SO MUCH, JUST LIKE THE SET IT SELF, TOTALLY PROFESSIONAL, EVERY STEP WAS AWESOME!!! I WOULD "HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLASMA TV AND THIS SELLER TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A FLAWLESS TRANACTION, IN MY OPTION, PANASONIC IS THE SUPERIOR TV ESPECIALLY IN A PLASMA SET!! This is without a doubt the best Plasma T.V. out for the price. A friend got a
Sharp 52" LCD , and my panasonic black levels and pictue quailty blow it away. I have had Sony for years, until I saw Panasonic. Sony have been sliping. GREAT BUY...................
Awesome TV. Makes a loud, high pitched whine if volume is low and picture quality is not as good as I have seen on other brands with the same specs. However, for the price, this TV is a great buy, high value and great picture, plus the speakers are loud and high quality. B+ - A- (88%-91%)
i purchased this television in november and at first it had some minor flickering issues when watching hd programs. but after a week or so it started runnig smoothly and i have not had a problem since. i believe this is the best dollar for dollar value tv on the market and i have done my research. if u want size and quality and have a low bedget this is the television for you.
I LOVE THE TV IN GENERAL. THE PICTURE IS PERFECT.AND IT WAS SO EASY TO SET UP!! IT IS EXACTLY WHAT I PAID FOR.I BOUGHT THE TV AS A BIRTHDAY GIFT FOR MY HUSBAND AND HE LOVED IT.
