Its 16-megapixel resolution is a bit of a waste and you can't use the optical zoom while recording movies.

This is a wonderful camera. I already have a panasonic DCM-SZ1 and I love it, This one takes great pictures and is perfect in the dark with an IR light. Day light shots come out beautiful. I will be using this on my next ghost investigation. It even has a plug in battery charger so you don't have to use a computer. You also get a stylus to use with the touch screen. Simple and easy to use with the included software.

Absolutely Great Camera. Quailty, Price, Features are All Above Average for Digital Point and Shoot Camera in this Price Range. Not for someone who does not enjoy latest touch screen technology or many features. It is Loaded with picture taking options.

I have had numerous types of digital cameras, but this one out performs them all. It took a little getting used to the touch screen, but all in all it is a lot faster than other menus of my previous cameras. My only difficulty is getting used to activating the Macro setting, which most times it is supposed to go to Macro automatically. Sometimes I have to coax it into Macro. Maybe there is a tip or something I don't know about yet. But I would recommend this camera for anyone who is trying to watch their money, and yet get a good quality image. It is tripod mountable also. I can also put my "Quik Mount" tripod base on the camera and leave it there and change the battery or remove the SD Card without having to take the Quik Mount off. I really like that. I also would recommend going ahead and getting a Class 10 16 Gb SD Sandisk card in case you want to take videos.
