Although I've only used it once so far, results were better than expected; have also taken photos. Uploading data to a Mac is fairly easy - also charges the battery.

Very good Camcorder, compares favorably to Sony HDR CX-130 which I have also used for a year. Software good, not as user friendly when editing out clips or as complete as Sony's PMB software
