Hi, This super slim black fascia single deck is attractive but buttons are hard to see. The performance seems excellent although with my panasonic LCD TV I must say there is not that big a difference between S-video and HDMI upconvert--This may be a good thing since the picture is very clear with no artifacts. The deck also plays many formats including RAM and DVDs I have made on my computer as well as with my Panasonic DVD Recorder using a Sima CT-2 Box (the best!!) to allow copying of any commercial DVD or VHS I have come across. The loading is fast enough to not be annoying and the controls on remote are excellent.
I would have given this player an excellent but the DVD drawer is so thin and flimsy I wonder how well it will hold up....so far so good..peter
simple, easy to use. and the picture quality is very good. not all dvd disc will play in this unit. i bought it because my vcr will not pick up the new digital signals and record them. i have a pasanoic recorder that will record and needed a player that my wife can record and watch her favorite shows in another room on this player.
Maybe, I am disappointed because of HD, but this is not HD and why waste the time and money on a Player that does not play true HD Movies also, brand name may be give a better result. I own Panasonic Home Theater Systems and think Panasonic is a Great Product. There is a difference in the cost of these two types of players, but a good shopper can find the true HD Player at a bargin.
These are a beautiful looking and smooth-as-butter operating. The HDMI is why everyone buys one, but since they are so cheap, just get one for you NON-HDMI set up and graduate to some mighty fine dvd playback.
Why buy ANOTHER cheapie when this one will take you into the future? At prices like this, JUST DO IT.
The player does what it's supposed to and does it very well. I knew going into it that it had no usb plug in and that it does not support true 5.1 surround sound. But then I can READ. It supports a wide variety of discs and has been able to upconvert them all for me. But then I can READ. So if you to have that ability then READ the manual and it will work out great. Excellent performance for the cost is my experience.
