Product Information
The Zuiko Digital ultra-wide fisheye lens helps you master light more effectively, even while providing an extreme 180-degree angle of view. Built from the ground up for digital photography, it channels more light to the image sensor for outstanding edge-to-edge results. This pristine glass lens delivers light directly to each of the imager's pixels. From center to edge, each image is filled with rich, accurate color, high contrast and subtle gradation. Designed exclusively for digital photography, Zuiko Digital Lenses provide a level of precision that's unattainable from a digital body using a traditional 35mm film lens.A must for fans of wide-angle photography, this ED Glass 8mm fisheye is ideal for viewing and composing dramatic ultra-wide "fisheye" images. Captures vivid detail with a 180 degree angle of view (diagonally) from as close as 5.3 inches to as far as infinity. Dust- and splash-resistant design lets you shoot in any weather. To correct lens distortions, shading and exposure information, this amazing lens has an upgradeable built-in computer that communicates directly with the camera's software. As a result, an exceptional level of control and accuracy is achieved, well beyond the capabilities of a passive lens.

Physically, the 8mm fisheye is a solid lensIt appears to be all metal, including the lens hood (fixed) and lens cap. Its waterproof. A few other things that I found is that the 8mm focuses very fast.
Super Sharp. Its not a macro lens but its able to focus very close to the subject. As a fisheye lens, there's actually not much distortion in the middle of the lens. This lens has some slight purple fringing which can be fixed in photoshop. It really gives a more creative possibilities and different perspective of photography. I would highly recommend this lens for those who love to create different perspective of photography.
The other interesting feature about the 8mm is that if you couple it with the EC-14 tele-extender, you actually get a wider field of view than you do with the 11-22mm at 11mm. In theory the 8mm with the EC-14 should be 11.2mm, but in practice it’s more like 10mm or less. It still has some of the fisheye distortion, but even when de-fished, you have a greater field of view remaining than with the 11-22mm.
