Professional camera wrapped up in a perfect package for novices!

I was told about this camera by my brother who is a professional photographer. He noted that the beauty of this camera was that it basically provided professional settings with a simply menu setting...settings that require a lot of knowledge by a photographer. In addition, I needed a waterproof camera for snorkeling so this was perfect! Not to mention that you can avoid having a second camcorder as this one takes 1080p HD videos as well!! What an ideal camera for trips...especially cruises!!!

It's very solid, the image quality is excellent (for such range of camera and price), under water too, lot of fun modes (good super macro, dramatc tone, ...), the metalic protection of the lens is very clever, very good and fast autofocus (I use the middle point AF), feel good and solid in hand, surprisingly lot of customisation, and excellent screen.

after 2 month, I didn't found something I dislike.


I use normely a dslr, but I can't carry it everytime, so I wanted a camera I could always carry in my coat, solid, with decent IQ, and water proof, for extrem photographic purpose or for souvenir/holidays pictures (It's -for me- not so convenient and useful to use my dslr just for souvenir).

Good fishing camera

Bought for use with my salt and fresh water fishing. Very happy with the camera. Replaced a Fuji that died after one season. Picture and video quality great and size/weight works well in my vest. Photos reproduced in club newsletter appear as good as those from expensive SLR images. Have not dropped it in salt water yet but has been seriously splashed with no problem.

Great Camera!

I bought this product because I was looking for a camera that could withstand the elements of nature. So far after using it for a couple weeks there has been nothing i didn't like about it. it takes great pictures and is very fast. The dog face detection doesn't work too well, but I don't really care so much about that. I had a Nikon Coolpix before this one and this Olympus blew it out of the water! One of my better purchases!

Overall a good digital camera with great features

I have been buying each new version of the Olympus Stylus Tough series since the beginning. Unfortunatlely, the image quality of the last two models is not a good as the older models. The grain is not as fine, even when shooting in ideal conditions at 100 film speed. I love the design and features, but Olympus needs to improve the image quality to what it once was.
