| The high-tech and user friendly Olympus FE series is sure to be a hit with users who want high image quality regardless of their budget. The 12-megapixel FE cameras boast up to 5x super wide optical zoom for great panorama shots or close-ups of distant subjects. The Olympus FE-5020 looks especially striking thanks to a double layered crystal shell finish. In addition, it offers a practical AF tracking feature which ensures that even moving subjects are in focus at all times. Also on board are advanced face detection technology and the i-Auto mode, which automatically identifies five commonly-encountered types of scenes and adjusts settings accordingly. | |

For $117 this is a best buy! The five time optical zoom is a minimum must, while the picture quality rivals any of the other sub-compacts. Most of the time, the picture quality is in stunning high definition, while I have had a couple blurry shots (a lot to do with how it is set up). For the most part, the auto flash, focus, stability, etc. will leave you with some outstanding pictures (close to our SLR). The small size however makes it as easy to carry as a cell phone, but with top quality shots. The downside....the lag!!!! A great clarity shot can take 2 or 3 seconds to snap causing the picture you want to be completly different.
Would I purchase it again; yes. The price, size and picture quality is well worth the $117. However if size or a little bit more $ is no problem, then I would recommend the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H20. The FUJIFILM F72EXR is an incredible choice for quality in a sub-compact size.
I like the size of the camera, I like the detail it brings out in the pictures altho the 12 pix does not work on some programs for selling. I have less trouble with blur. I wish that the batteries lasted longer.I bought an extra battery so that I could take pictures for a longer length of time. I would recommend anyone wanting to use it for a while to buy an extra battery. I bought the camera for the pixels and the price. I had an Olympus camera previously and trust the name. Overall I feel it was a good investment.
definitely go with two batteries. I take a lot of pictures for down loading. The batteries do not last long with constant picture taking. This is my 5th Olympus camera and would buy again.
