This cult comedy classic stars Ron Livingston as an engineer who is supremely unsatisfied with his job and frustrated with office culture and politics, but a series of hilarious events give him a chance to take revenge with the help of his two friends and co-workers, played by David Herman and Ajay Naidu. Comedy fans can enjoy watching the plot unfold, while simultaneously appreciating the scathing social commentary and memorable lines. Office Space also features Stephen Root, Gary Cole and Jennifer Aniston in supporting roles. The Blu-ray disc version of Office Space comes with the widescreen version of the movie and Spanish subtitles. Office Space is based on Mike Judge's cartoon series known as Milton. Office Space

This geeky 1999 office comedy starring Ron Livingston as a corporate Everyman instantly gained cult status for its unabashed caricatures of office personalities, and its theme of corporate sabotage. Peter Gibbons (Livingston) is a typical middle manager living a mundane life amid a gray maze of cubicles. Everything in his life reeks of mediocrity, from the mid-size car he drives to the chain restaurant, Chotchky's (read: TGI Friday's), where he eats lunch every day. Even his apartment, a cookie-cutter duplex with walls so thin that he can chat with his next-door neighborhood through the plaster, is totally lacking in personality. The company where he works is peppered with ambitionless drones who blindly comply with the condescending requests made of them by their Porsche-driving CEO (Gary Cole). Then one day, Gibbons snaps. As a team of experts is brought in to enact large-scale layoffs, Gibbons simply stops trying and adopts an attitude of total disinterest. That is, he's only interested in dating the blond waitress (Jennifer Anniston) at the local restaurant, and putting in place a devilish scheme for some corporate payback. OFFICE SPACE's writer-director Mike Judge (BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD), scares up some A-list laughs with this film, while also making an excellent parody of corporate culture. Released just as the dot-com boom began to go bust, with massive trends in corporate downsizing on the horizon, it could not have been better timed. Thus, while viewers will delight in the absurdity of the ultimate office loser Milton (Stephen Root), they will also identify with some frighteningly realistic aspects of the film.

Most unique & hilarious office comedy ever created!

This movie will touch the hearts & funny bones of anyone who has ever worked in an office! (And even those who haven't!) We're in the day & age where it is considered normal for workers to be laid off on a whim for "business efficiency".

Join Peter Gibbons & an array of unique characters in this hilarious comedy (From Creator & Director, Mike Judge) that anyone who dislikes their boss & meaningless job can relate to!

Unable to endure another mind-numbing day at Initech Corporation, white-collar peon Peter Gibbons (Ron Livingston) has had enough. Armed with a bold new attitude he neglects his job with a vengeance-and is quickly promoted to upper management!

When this movie first came out it was a bust in the box office. I can't imagine why! This unique comedy had me laughing for hours! In fact, my co-workers and I still quote lines from it.

When I tell people about this movie they ask me "Well, who is in it?", as if that alone is the determining factor in whether they will go see it. That's just it! The only person who starred in it that is well-known is Jennifer Aniston. Each actor/actress couldn't be more perfect for the character they play.

Filled with humorous, unique characters...this original comedy will have you laughing out loud for days!

A CLASSIC For EVERY DVD Collection! Some Can RELATE!!

If you've ever worked in a tiny cubicle, pushed papers, and fought a worthless fax machine in an attempt to earn a living, you will love this movie. OFFICE SPACE is a hilarious movie that deconstructs everything that makes an office worker's life so miserable: from morning traffic, to catch phrases (it looks like somone has the Moondays), to bosses that totally ignore their workers. This movie had a low budget, but Mike Judge is a brilliant filmmaker. He takes a relatively unknown cast and is able to milk hilarious, yet totally lifelike performances from each actor and unites everything together in a coherent conceptually comedy masterpiece (e.g. the fax-beating scene with the ganster music playing is just pure brilliance). Of course, the film says a lot about the actors as well, they don't seem to be just characters or caricatures: they seem like real people. There is no sex, relative little violence (well, there is a lot of violence toward inanimate objects), and relatively little cursing words (most of the foul language comes from the film's soundtrack). A movie that's destined to become a modern comedy classic.

A True Classic of the American Workplace

This has to be one of the best sendups of the Hell of Cubicles that I have ever seen. Mike Judge (Beavis & Butthead, King of the Hill) hits it right on the head in this laugh-out-loud dark comedy about the American corporate workplace. Mindless drones in a software company march quietly and desperately to their deaths or next jobs without a clue or a hope in the world that their situation can change - until one employee is hypnotized and doesn't care anymore... so much so that the corporate geeks notice and promote him!
Milton the Man Who Doesn't Know He's Been Layed Off For Five Years is GREAT as the Red Swingline Stapler guy. I keep watching this one over and over and don't tire of seeing all my fellow co-workers at every place I've been in the past! You'll be laughing about TPS reports, Red Thwingline Thtaplers, evil copy machines, and Michael Bolton for many years to come!

I wouldn't say I was missing it Bob (Office Space)

Review For: Office Space (Blu-ray Disc, 2009, Special Edition; Checkpoint; Sensormatic; Widescreen)

This is an appropriate tribute to people like me everywhere who hate their jobs. The plot is hilarious, the characters are hysterical, and it's just a fun movie. If you hate your job want to feel at least a little better about it,this film is for you.

Incredibly true-to-life story about life at work. Anyone who's ever worked in a large office will find at least one thing, probably more, that they can relate to.

Look at the characters: From the receptionist with the annoying high-pitched voice, to the clueless management, to the soft-spoken guy with no backbone (or so you think), this looks more like a documentary than fiction.

The daily situations of the office environment, including paper jams in the printer, static electricity, and slow computers, are hilarious for some reason when they happen to the people in the movie.

Throw in some great acting, a good story, and the humor of Mike Judge, and you'll find one of the best movies ever made, hilarious from start to finish.

Grab this one up and add it to the classic collect pile. Worth Getting.
