| The Odyssey White Hot XG 7 Putter Golf Club comes with the White Hot XG #7, a modified mallet with weighted alignment wings, a double-bend shaft and full-shaft offset. Furthermore, the Odyssey White Hot XG 7 Putter Golf Club comes equipped with Odyssey's White Hot insert technology, wherein a combination of a soft, resilient elastomer core and a thin, firm cover of urethane are used to create a golf club with improved feel and better feedback. Further enhanced by a textured impact zone that increases the sweet spot, this club also significantly improves your shot performance and shot consistency. The White Hot insert used in this Odyssey golf club ensures that the weight is distributed to the perimeter of the putterhead, yielding a higher MOI for increased forgiveness and better roll. | |

The Odyssey Putter Company has produced a lot of great putters over the last decade and the XG Line of putters only adds to their sterling reputation.
The XG #7 putter is the one being reviewed but all of the XG putters have the new "Dual-Insert Technology"
The XG #7 looks a little odd but it's performance on the green is why it is in my bag.
The Dual-insert has a nice "clicky" feel to it which I like and has helped me tremendously with my distance control..which in-turn has decreased a lot of my dreaded 3 putts.
Putters are a very "FEEL" oriented club so I suggest you try this putter at a local golf store before you decide which style suites you best.
I am glad I chose the #7 because I like the extra "Fangs" on the back which help me with alignment and makes it very simple to pick up the ball off the green as the ball fits perfecty in the "Fangs"
Overall, I have finally found a putter that helps me lower my total putts per round and I would recommend the Odyessey XG Line to any golfer struggling with putting. It will remain in my bag for a long time.
Good Luck and keep it in the Fairway!
I tried this putter while looking at several Odyssey two ball putters and what a difference! I was not even considering this club because I did not think it looked very impressive sitting on the display rack. I am glad I gave it a try. I ended up easily picking the XG #7 over my other considerations.
This club has proven to be one of the easiest putters to align when on the green. I am now routinely making putts of all lengths instead of lipping out or misaligning from the start. Looking down from your stance, the putter design builds confidence and allows the eyes to see directly where you intend to stroke the ball. In addition, the face insert has a soft feel and allows for a more aggressive stroke, even on faster greens. That soft feel has helped my distance control.
I highly recommend you give the putter a serious look.
PS – When give a choice, Odyssey web-site recommends players use a shorter shafted putter. Statically the shorter the shaft the better the better the putting scores. I am 6' and had my 34” putter cut down to 33 ¼ inches. It has helped tremendously. The PGA pro I was talking with said “The majority of golfers purchase putters that are routinely too long for their optimal putting stroke.
Something to consider!
Good Luck!
I love the feel of the grip. The double offset shaft makes the club easy to keep square. The clube head weight and balance keep the clubhead square and straight through the siwng arc and help the ball run true. Also the face insert provides a very good "touch".
This putter seems to be able to judge distances that for the past 40 years my other ones were incapable of. Very solid feel on every putt, which is also a new experience. I used an Odyssey mallet type for years but this is far and away much better.
Combines many of the attributes of the newer, higher MOI putters with some of the benefits of a slightly heavier and more solid feeling face. Was using 2 ball and F7 and came back to this because I liked the heavier feeling and simpler alignment. Could not be happier; also changed the grip to a Winn jumbo putter grip and wow!
