Judas priest - Nostradamus

i have always been a fan of priest, they are one of the best classic metal bands.
they have a great twin guitar team of kk downing and glen tipton, who blend well together, and halford has the epitome of a metal voice.
ian hill holds the bottom end down with his no frills bass playing.

if your a fan of priest youll know they evolve with every album, and they arnt afraid to take risks..from the sabbath inspired "sad wings of destiny" album, to the commercial " point of entry" album...to the metal onslaught of the "painkiller" album.

"Notstradamus" from priest is a concept album, and it has great focus..its very atmosphereic.
but its not a "great" album, its over produced and slick sounding. and its alot to listen to all at once, its a 2 cd set.

Nostadamus- Judas Priest have evolved!

I 've been a Judas Priest fan since 1976 and the first album I listened to was Sad wings of Destiny! They sounded great and in 1979 I got to see them live in London, England and they kicked Butt! The Nostardamus 2 cd set is great! Some fans think that it's too mellow or melodic but this band has stood the test of time and now they are moving on into uncharted territory. I give them credit for being bold enough to try something as epic as this! This whole project is a story of the infamous Nostrdamus! I love the songs Revelations, and Alone, and Nostrdamus. The band is playing as well as ever and Halford's vocals are still haunting as usual. This isn't as heavy as past cd's but they do kick butt on some songs and using keyboard and strings are a great effect. If you're a Priest fan give it a listen with an open mind!

Altered States, Candles, Mirror liquid, Holographic

It is a Themed Double Disc. It is typical Deep & Dark Judas Priest, but with great Orchestration, added sound effects and some Italian Opera like lyrics.
Rob Halford's voice sounds older and strained on some tracks, but it fits with the prophetic end of our life on this world lamentations. It really builds up the persona of Nostradamus and his character. His coded Quatrains still echo back to us 500 years later. Time is not linear.

It Really works for me!

While I've always been a "Priest" fan, this new concept album really gets you ready to rock like the rest of theirs do. Brilliant work, it must have taken time to make and they couldn't have done much better! Bravo!

Their best yet!

I've been a JP fan for over 30 years, and have all their albums. Nostradamus is THEIR BEST YET! I'm not kidding. It has the metal we crave, and the mellow we need (sometimes). The music is very dynamic on this album, ranging from ballad-like songs that compliment Halfords voice, synthesizers, acoustic guitars, and raunchy electric guitars. Nostradamus reminds me of the old JP albums...Sad Wings......

I highly recommend it!
