Playing the Nintendo Wii was a different experience for me. Since the early days of Halo Combat Evolved, Ive been an avid Xbox gamer. Before that I was into Playstation classics like Tomb Raider and Spyro the Dragon. Basically the motion controller caught me off guard and took some time getting used to. This Red Edition is pretty awesome, although the new mario bros might look like a kiddy game...those who have played the original mario classics on nes and snes will fall in love all over again with not only mario and yoshi but the new power ups. Not gonna spoil it but sending mario straight into the air is pretty fun!
I love the color and the included games were all we needed for a joyous Christmas morning!!! I decided to buy it when the kids 'wowed' the commercial. Ebay made the purchase easy and no worries about not finding the product in a store. The only thing I dislike is that only one controller was included and you can't purchase a RED Wii controller anywhere. Why not include at least two controllers with a limited edition product...
The Wii is often considered too "casual" or too "kiddy" for those that consider themselves "hardcore gamers". But from my experience the Wii has brought back similar feelings to those I had back in 1988 when I first saw, and later bought my NES.
Yes, there are an almost overwhelming number of lower-quality/budget games but, just like every single generation of gaming system from Nintendo - the exclusives / first-party offerings compete just fine with those so-called hardcore games.
as expected from Nintendo, a great way for couch potatoes to get up, move and have loads of fun!If only had included the sports resort instead of just the sports version as i was pretty bored after running through the sports within 2 hours. The super mario game was fun and cool ! The revised remote made it fun as it simulated curving during bowling etc.Great console! cool color! Get it !
Feedback Score Of 50) See all reviews by nolesnumber1This game system is great for family fun. The older people enjoy it as much as the kids. We've bought Atari,Sega, Nintendo, PS1 2 3, Xbox, and Xbox 360 games and systems for the kids over the years. The kids are out of college and we are now buying games for their children. This is the FIRST game/system I've enjoyed playing myself. We HAD to get one of our own. It's also, compared to some of the others, the biggest bang for the buck. The sports games seem to hold their attention longer. The children don't seem to grow 'tired' of the Wii games - nor did we. We played 'till midnight! Although I was sore the next day, it was a blast!
