People of all skill levels can pick up and play any of the games in the unprecedented Wii Sports package, making this truly a title for everyone! The Wii console makes you feel less like a player and more like you're in the game. Forget about pushing a button to start a golf backswing. Wii lets you swing the club! Don't push a button to swing a sword, actually swing the sword. Video games have always been a part of you, now you get to be a part of them. Step up to the next level of gaming. | |

I bought this system after playing at my son's home over the holiday season. The system is so entertaining and adds an exercise function to your schedule. The system is easy to hook up, easy to use, and has so many options. I bought the system used on Ebay, and it looks brand new, and was well taken care of by the previous owner. This is the second type of game system we own,(a ps2) and now it's our favorite! The system came with 2 remotes, 2 numchucks(which you need for certain games), all hook up cables, assorted games, and instructions. It's a great system; one I would recommend!
The Wii is an amazing system for the price! This unit I bought for 32$ came with a broke disc player, however this is not a problem in the least bit! If you know anything about Wii Mods, you will know that it takes only 5 minutes, a 2GB SD Card, and the right websites to get every Wii game for free, stick a USB Flash Drive in the back and you will have an endless library of the latest games at your fingertips!
If you are not into modding, the Wii is a great alternative to a Web Streaming Media Device like the Roku. The Wii supports both netflix, and hulu plus, and with a built in wireless card and up to 480P picture with a component cable the Wii is an amazing device.
I'm more of a ps3 player myself, but just recently I have purchased a Nintendo Wii for my daughter and I was actually surprised. Its great for the whole family, especially when your trying to push in some family fun time at home. Although the new super Mario bros game for the Wii was a bit complicated and way different then from the original. Wii does offer tons of other fun games, such as dancing games (my daughters fav) which are actually fun too play. The motion controller and motion bar bring gameing to a whole new level. This gameing experience can actually be healthy at times for the fact that it can be a work out! But down to the point, the Nintendo Wii brings out the imagination in the mind and puts a new spin of excitement into the gaming world as we know. More suitable for children then the ps3 and Xbox but fun as well for the rest of the family. You can also enjoy the other features it offers such as the ability to stream from Netflix, and with some of the newer Wii models you can also play Nintendo gamecube games! I recommend the Nintendo Wii if your looking for family fun or the more appropriate game system for your children. If your more of a hardcore gamer or a shoot em up junkie, then the ps3 or xbox360 is the choice for you.
The Wii in general is a lot of fun. It is great for families. We had to replace ours after about 4 years of use (disc drive died). The only problem with newest wii consoles is that they no longer support gamecube games and peripherals. Be advised if you plan to use a gamecube controller or floor mat, it will not work on this version.
I have had this console for a month and a half, and I hate myself for not getting one years ago!
It took a little playing around, but eventually i "homebrewed" it, so I can play backup games from a hard drive, thus preventing my disc from getting scratched up. Also, I can play movies at 720p, and box artwork (games) is conveniently downloaded from the internet, and displayed in an appealing manner.
The games/console itself (not modded) are generally simplistic, and as Nintendo has stated, seems to be geared toward the casual and family gaming audiences. This is in sharp contrast to my Xbox 360, where most of the games I own require intimate familiarity with the controls and split second reflexes and strategy.
The Wii's hardware is certainly behind that of the Xbox 360 and PS3, but it is not much of a bother. Using the Homebrew kit, I have extended the flash memory to 8GB, and attached a 1TB USB hard disk drive for backups. There are patches that can force games to run at 720p, and even though I have not tried them yet, I've read on the internet about hacked Wii's running at 1080p! There is also a 3rd party HDMI converter that up-scales the picture, without any loss of quality (apparently).
