|With impressive 3D rendered graphics, Nintendo DS delivers portable games for fans of any genre. Plus, you can play all your favorite Game Boy Advance games in a single-player mode. With Nintendo DS in platinum silver, dual screens and touch-screen technology allow you to interact with games like never before. Wireless communication allows you to experience real-time multiplayer game play, while built-in PictoChat software gives you the power to draw, write and send messages wirelessly. Nintendo DS revolutionizes the way games are played. Two LCD screens offer one of the most groundbreaking game play advances ever developed. Imagine the possibilities. In a racing game, you might see your own vehicle's perspective on one screen and an overall track view on the other. Soon, games could be created allowing you to play games on one screen while sending text messages on the other. The lower screen offers something never before provided by any dedicated game device: touch-screen capabilities. You no longer have to rely on just buttons to move your character or shift perspectives. Navigate menus or access inventory items simply by touching the screen with a stylus or fingertip. The possibilities are limited only by developers' imaginations. The touch screen features a tougher film cover for durability, and the included stylus is stored in the back of the unit.A built-in microphone port means that with Nintendo DS, you only need to tell your games what to do. Developers could create games, which identify everything from voice commands to hand clapping. Imagine moving your characters simply by telling them which way to go! Communication-based games could use the microphone and you can chat with others over a local network, or even the Internet in the future. The Nintendo DS microphone gives you even more ways to interact with your favorite games. What's more, by using a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector or a wireless router, you can connect to DS players across the globe, and enjoy fun aboundNintendo DS sound capabilities allow for greatly expanded use of voices and music, and a richer, more immersive game experience. Stereo speakers allow for virtual surround sound and a plug for headphones transmits stereo sound. Hear something in your left headphone? Audio clues can give you advance warning that an enemy is approaching or that a hidden secret is nearby. Sound can be one of the most immersive components of any video game, and Nintendo DS delivers big sound in a small package.|

The Nintendo DS employs innovative dual-screen and microphone-enabled gameplay without load times on a higher-resolution display than Game Boy Advance SP while remaining backward compatible with older GBA games. The inclusion of Wi-Fi multiplayer capabilities and a touch screen allows for a growing list of original and fun games that you can't play on any other system.
Third-party support for the system hasn't matched the originality and ingenuity of Nintendo's games, and multimedia potential remains exclusive to Japan. The system is quite bulky. The much more stylish and comfortable DS Lite is available for the same price.
While it lacks the multimedia and graphical finesse of the Sony PSP, the feature-packed Nintendo DS is a worthy successor to the Game Boy Advance--but the new and improved DS Lite is available for the same price.

My son bought one of these at Gamestop (refurbished) only to have one of the LED cells go out a few days later. With the full refund we were given, we started a search to replace this rare, unique limited edition DS. We found one (not as good a price as we originally paid) and it has been wonderful. I am not a games person, but I have even gotten hooked on the little thing at times. We love the fact it plays all types of DS Nintendo and Advanced GameBoy games...no discrimination like the newer models. His friends are jealous because you don't see these around very much.
To me, The original Nintendo DS is my favorite DS because it plays both GBA&DS games, and uses the same GBA SP charger. Although it is really thick and somewhat difficult to hold, I get used to it, its not so hard when played for about a day or two. The Nintendo DS lite and the Nintendo DSi/xl are really good systems: Ds lite for its ultra portability, DSi: for its camera and soft matte feel and DSiXL: for its Colossal screens and platform. All great systems, but I just think the Nintendo DS is the best :D
I love this DS Lite! I already owned a DS Lite prior to my purchase of this one but it was starting to break apart. The one I am talking about is the Crimson/Black DS Lite. The hinge cracked and the L and R buttons were not functioning. The screens were pretty scratched up as well so I thought it was time for a new DS Lite system. I am still keeping the old one because it still works. I am so glad I decided to buy this one because it is beautiful. The outside casing is a glossy black on the top and the bottom of the system. Usually the bottom has a matte finish but this one is shiny all around. Is has the glittery pictures of Palkia and Dialga on the top and they look really awesome. The inside of the system is greay in color which I think goes really well with the glossy black. This is a great DS Lite for a Pokémon fan like myself.
Pros: 2 screens,good battery life,cool games,backward capability,cheap games,great sound
Cons: a little bulky but a minor detail
Summary: Let me start off by saying im not a Sony hater.I have had a PS1,PS2,and N64. I don't care what the brand is, if your product is hot ill buy it regardless of the maker.
The DS is a great system. The DS is most commonly

Lots of fun with the games that I own for it (Brain Age 2, Legend of Zelda, Kingdom Hearts). The screens can be a bit too small if the game has a lot of visual detail, but most of the games work around that issue. I simply love how portable it is as well as how easy it is to tuck it into a purse or large pocket. It makes waiting rooms and family reunions so much more bearable.
