Great value as long as you understand its specified limitations.

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I bought this lens as a low cost, mid-range lens to supplement the 18-55mm and 55-200mm pieces that my wife already had for her camera. For the price that you can get these for, they can be a great deal. The only real draw back to it is that it will not autofocus on the entry level Nikon camera's. As is obvious by looking at the specifications, this is not a low-light lens. Nor is it's zoom range all that great. The one I bought is in absolutely mint condition, and was a steal at around $50.00. It takes gorgeous photo's, and as long as you don't expect more than it is capable of giving, it will not disappoint. The autofocus is fast and precise on my D-90, and the pictures come out sharp and free of excessive flaws. I would buy this again for general photography, or as a lens to use in conditions where I fear damage to my other, more expensive lens's.

A cheap, but still good option/backup

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

Still a sharp lens for any Nikon body. I use this for my D5100 and works flawlessly.

There is no AF for DSLRs, but you may control the aperture with your DSLR. Another plus is that most Nikon DSLRS will be able to use the light meter with this lens.

Silky smooth focus and zoom rings.

A good, cheap addition to any collection.

For the price, the best lens you can get when you are starting out

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

Without question, the most reliable lens I have ever owned. After owning 3 of this exact lens and an accumulated 30k shots, the lens has never been out of focus, and I have never ever even heard it move-that is important for nature photographers-this lens is so sharp ALL of the time..I have used it on an D3xs and a D70 and a D90, and have have never had a bad shot-obviously its not for fast action, distance shots, but if you know what you are doing, this lens, in spite of the VR lenses out there, is the best buy in the market, especially for the new photographer. Ounce for ounce, you cant beat this lens.
