Wonderful

The best 28mm I ever had.
Seeing it on ebay was really a good surprise and made my opportunity to buy one.
I have no regrets after a full month of using it.

It has a depth of field absolutely great a soft spot sweet as honey and focusing is so precise that you can reach the top in your pictures quality.
And more, it is focusing like a macro at very short distance, aproximately 20 cm...

Great lens for the money

I bought this lens to serve as a fast wide angle on FX and a wide/normal on DX. This is actually the second copy that I have owned and body have been excellent performers for my. I am a fan of the Nikon af-d primes because they are cheap and compact with outstanding optics. I own the 20 f/2.8, 24 f/2.8, 28 f/2.8, 35 f/2, 50 f/1.4 and all are awesome, especially for the money. Yes I like the convenience of the pro zooms, but the prime offer all of that performance but allow you to slowly add focal lengths in an affordable way. Better yet, if you damage one, you are not out $1500+ like you would be with the zoom.

The only thing that I wish was included was a bayonet lens hood, but Nikon seems to be adding them to the newer AF-s primes.

It's a good glass.

I like this lens. It's very light to carry. It focuses fast and sharp. I only had problem with the aperture lock/ring. That when I change it to another F, it always turn error. SO I had to fixed it to the max aperture, 2.8F. But I guess because my cam is D7000, not an FX. Very useful if you're just in a small room event. Very wide shot, that is.
I'll keep this one.

Wide angle for FX

The AF-D version is better than the AF non-D version
It is perfect for FX format for interior pictures or landscape and architecture
its price is reasonnable
other interresting lens : AF-D 35mm f/2

Good for portraits and landscape

It is a good lens, good optics, lightweight, fast and efficient focus. I use this lens in the majority of situations, it has good quality and is very light.
