I had a Kodak and Canon before which I loved. I had an Olympus once which I did not like at all and had to replace it after a year. But this Nikon is really great. The battery life lasted long and pictures are so clear. It is so easy to use to knowing I'm not a "technology" person. I love my Nikon and highly recommend it.
I purchased this litte nikon to replace my old Kodak Easy Share 7.1 MP camera. Overall the camera is easy to use and the software that comes with it is really great. My only complaint is that when you zoom in to take shots of little things like a bumblebee, the image gets fuzzy. Also, I noticed it does not do well with action shots. Again, the image gets blurry. I will keep this camera for taking quick shots, but have just purchased a nikon d5100 for close up and action shots.
I bought this camera on a whim as I always wanted an inexpenive point and shoot just to carry around for spontaneous shooting whenever I went out. It was a 're-furbish' model at a great price!
It was so compact, easy to use and takes great photos. I say 'was' because I gave it to my seven year old grand dsughter to use and she mastered taking photos, reviewing them, as well a many of the less sophisticated features (telephoto and wide angle, etc.) within minutes. She was more thrilled than I was when I received it.
Subsequently I purchased a COOLPIX S3300 for myself as I missed the fun of just playing around with such a compact, carefree and durable, camera. If you don't need to take fast action photos the S3100 is the choice !!

I bought this camera to take pics of a toddler grandson, but the time between shots can't keep up with him! lol This camera takes wonderful pictures and has many great features and options- especially for the price!!! I do love it, and have a few other older Nikons- along with a Canon too. I love the ease of use and it seems alittle sturdier built than some other cameras, even though slim. So if you have the luxury of waiting a few seconds longer between shots, definitely pick up one of these cameras for fun.
The camera is easy to use and takes beautiful, 14 mp photos. There are many great features, and the price is excellent. You can't go wrong with this point-and-shoot camera, and it's so tiny that you can fit it in your pocket.
