| The Nikon COOLPIX L810 is a 16.1 MP digital camera with a 22.5 mm to 585 mm wide-angle NIKKOR lens that proves beneficial in capturing vast landscapes or crowds even from a short distance. With a 26x optical zoom, the Nikon COOLPIX L810 brings distant objects twenty-six times closer without losing out on the sharpness. This Nikon digital camera also records high-definition videos in 720p resolution to deliver a true-to-life footage. The lens-shift vibration reduction (VR) function in the Nikon COOLPIX L810 counters handshakes to rule out image blurs. This 16.1 MP digital camera features the Easy Auto mode, which optimally adjusts the settings to help you get the best possible results in any shooting condition. A lens with high ISO light sensitivity (up to 1600) helps this Nikon digital camera capture clear images even in low-lit conditions like indoors or night time. | |

I am not a professional photographer, but I do take hundreds of photos each week, and generally over 50 each day for selling items on eBay. I had been using a cheap Sony Cyber but was looking to upgrade since my daughter was getting married. I tried an Olympus and a good quality Kodak but returned them both. This Nikon has the best battery life of any camera I have ever owned - and that's dozens. The picture quality is really nice which means less photo editing for me. Getting this camera made taking distance shots easy and tight shots with much less lighting effort. I have only one issue and it is minor and not one to effect many pictures but when I have to photograph an item close range from a low height the lens will create a shadow in the flash. I usually just edit it out and most people wouldn't even be taking photos that would have that issue. The biggest advantage I have found is the battery life. I always preferred rechargeable batteries in the past and would always keep an extra battery charging but I was switching back and forth regularly. This camera uses AA batteries and with the hundreds of photos I take weekly, and taking wedding photos as well as pleasure photos I have only changed batteries ONCE in about 6 weeks. It is bulkier than my other point and shoot cameras but I just keep it around my neck while using it. I haven't bothered with much mode work yet but sooner or later I will have a chance to try out all the neat options this camera offers. I find it is a real sweet deal.
Excellent features, easy to use, and it takes great pictures!
True story: Had my heart set on the Nikon D3100, but I couldn't bring myself to pay that much for it. Rewind to my son's 8th grade graduation in May. I didn't have a camera at the time so I was using my cell phone which ran out of batteries by the time the graduation procession started. I was devastated. FORTUNATELY a good friend whose son was also graduating was sitting right behind me and she had a gorgeous professional looking camera. She offered to take pics of our son for me. When she emailed them to me the next day, her pictures were amazing! The zoom, picture color and clarity was so unbelievable! I HAD to know what the name of her camera was. She said a "Nikon Coolpix L810". I quickly looked it up online and found it cheapest on Amazon. I ordered it on a Friday and got it on Monday! I'm in LOVE with this camera. I've been practicing taking photos with it outside my work during breaks and the pictures are just beautiful, the zoom is AMAZING. Now, it's definitely not a quick point and shoot camera. You should ABSOLUTELY read the focus instructions VERY carefully before you use this otherwise your pictures come out blurry. BUT that's not a camera issue, it's a "you're not focusing the camera correctly" issue. Lol. You need to press the button down only halfway to allow the camera to focus first, once the focus light turns green, THEN press it all the way down. Tricky at first but gets easy after about 5 pics. So take your time practicing with the focus and getting to know all its shooting modes and features before you try to use it for special occasions like graduations, weddings, vacations...etc. After you get used to it, you will be in love with it. The price for the quality of this camera is outstanding. Love the size of it too. Big enough to be taken seriously, but small enough to fit in a purse or bag for travel. Not heavy, but just enough weight to it to give that quality feel. It's perfect!
This camera is amazing for the money. It works beyond the imagination in low light. We have given it a workout and the only thing we haven't mastered is action shots. It has so many features that we can continue to explore for quite a while. The size and weight are just right for big hands, shakey hands and fumbling hands. Bottom line we LIKE it and are very glad we made this choice after a great deal of research and pondering.
The Coolpix L810 is a very lightweight easy to use camera. It has beautiful resolution and is quite easy to use. The only reason I used 4 stars out of 5 on features is because other cameras have more features in their touch screen menu and sometimes it is a little hard to focus when shooting an action shot. The strap is more than durable enough, even for a biker like me. The flash is quite bright and almost unnecessary because this camera has the ability to take very nice pictures in low light situations with out the flash. The buttons are easily accessible and are very easy to use, especially for a novice like myself. I bought this camera as a refurbished piece and I can't even see signs of any wear. Also, this camera works flawlessly. I am quite happy and I feel you would be happy as well.
In general, the camera on the weak four. The picture quality is average, I was hoping it would be much better to get a clear shot to catch the image and engines. In motion or in low moving picture is much washed away. When you turn on the camera can be heard from the faint noise. To use the flash, it must first open a touch of a button, the flash does not automatically start. When I ordered the camera did not pay attention to the fact that it is after renovation, repair true reason was not specified, and I think it's also a negative side, because I do not know that it could break.
