I'm a mid-80's player (bad around the greens but above-average iron player) looking for that next step in my game. I bought these clubs with that expectation and they responded. It's been a month (7 rounds played) since I received them and they have not disappointed. One piece of advice, get fitted for them you will need the proper shaft for these guys as I did. If you have never experienced a blade, don't be afraid with this set. The progression from split-to-cavity-to-blade is great for the mid-handicapper. The long irons are long yet very controllable, the mids are precise and workable from both sides, the short are like throwing darts (you can be aggressive in attacking the pin). I've noticed a 8-15 yard gain in these clubs on flush hits, the occassional mis-hit is devastating to yards. It will make you become a better iron player and eliminate the mis-hits. Example: my old 8-iron was my "150yd. club" now with the VR's it's landing around 163yd. I will have these clubs for a long time as there is still a lot of room to grow with this set. If you are considering, just pull the trigger on the VR combos. I always wanted a set of Mizuno's but after hitting these and the MP-68's side by side with the club fitter I liked the feel of these better which I wasn't expecting. I like to think I'm more of a feel player than a mechanical so I want to be swinging something I feel confident with and know it's going where I want it to. Not to mention the look of these sticks are great. The split/cavity backs are not noticeable at address. Nike has made another great product and satisfied another customer.

I really wanted the Mizuno MP59's, but I liked the Pro Combos better after hitting both 6irons. I was a little nervous about getting a set with blades since I have never hit a blade. My last set was Taylormade r7's which I was never satisfied with because of the offset. I pull all of my irons left. Having said that, I am about a 20+ handicap and my lowest score to date has been a 90. I took these out of the box at the golf course and played them. Long story short, I turned in an 80! My favorite club in this set is the 3iron. I measured 1 of my tee shots to 260 yds. My old 3 iron, was 205 yards and a 1 degree stronger loft. Since then I'm right around 225 carry with this club and its dead straight. And my hybrid is going on ebay.

I have played Mizuno's for about 8-9 years now and just sold my MP 53's and wanted to try Nike. Well They are very close to my Mp's, The blades are Great, the split's are good and the 3-4 Irors good as well. The feel of the forged 1025 is close to the Mizuno's. I do have to say I might have gave up some yards from the 3-7 Irons but I picked up yards on the 8-pw(go figure) I'm kinda thinking I should had gone back to all blades like when I had the MP 32's But I'm still going to keep them in my bag for awhile. The blades...wow can you work the hell out of them left, right, low, high whatever!! Still for playing Mizuno's for that long it's still nice to see another forged club feel that good when you hit it. If you can grab a cheap set pick them up to give them a try, I think you might just like the Nike's.

These irons met or exceeded all expectations. I was surprise I was able to purchase a current model just available to the market. I would recommend these irons to anyone who is interested in a quality forged irons with both forgivness and work ablilty built into the set. Replacing the muscle back 8, 9 and wedge with cavity backs was an improvement

Great set of traditional blades for the better player.

Great looking traditional forged blades. Thin sole and top line. Buttery smooth feel. Good distance and clean look. Don't fool yourself these are for top amateur players and professionals. If you are a 8 handicap or higher look at the pro combos. 8 or lower get the blades if it fits your eye. Nike has done a great job with the better player type irons and this is no exception.
