Square is Better!
Created: 07/30/09
I recently purchased a slightly used Nike SQ Sumo 2 3 wood. I took it to the driving range the first day I received it. The club has a very good feel to it, I can feel the club head through the swing. First thing I noticed was that it was very easy to get the ball airborne. The ball flight is nice and penetrating. My distance is about the same as always but the feel of the club gives me more confidence to let it rip. I was pleased at the driving range. I played my first round with the club and I'm even more impressed. Maybe its because I'm not hitting range limited golf balls. My first shot with it was a straight pipe down the middle of the fairway. Tremendous carry and roll, I think I have a keeper. I hit it about two more times that day and the same result. I'm definitely hitting the ball farther.

Nike Sumo #3 hybrid 21 degrees

This hybrid is great! Like other hybrids this club sets its weight very far back making it very easy to punch shots out of the rough or fairway with accuracy and distance. The Sumo #3 with stiff flex provides a ton of feedback when you hit. It will rattle in your hand when you mishit but at the same time minimizes the mistake of the actual shot. So in one swing you get a relatively more playable ball but also receivethe feedback to know you need to tweak your swing here or there. I also picked this one over its younger brother the Sumo squared #3. The forgiveness of the Sumo squared is marginally better but with the normal sumo you can shape your shots a lot better. So if you are novice and have a lot of money you may opt for the squared, but if you are a mid to low handicapper try the regular sumo as you will be able to be more creative with the club.

A Solid Hybrid Option

This one isn't the square shape...it looks more like the hybrids you're probably used to. Set up is very nice, looks good and just feels right at address.
A smooth swing sends the ball flying high w/ this hybrid, very nice! Soft landings on the green. It's pretty forgiving, too. Any smooth, semi normal swing will send the ball straight, high and to a soft landing.
Solid choice here for a hybrid. Nike has come a long, long way in their golf technology and this club is no exception.
Buy with confidence!

first off the grip has some issues if you dont have a glove you just might put this club in the fairway! BUT at 39.99 regrip it and you got one nice and strait hybrid. it is forgiving and the ball comes off hot.you still need to swing well but when you do hope your buddies are watching too you might not find your ball I am far from a big hitter but when I have a good swing I can gett from 180 to 200 off the fairway and with the 4 around 160 to 180 the ball flies much higher with the 4 the ball does not get much roll but if it hits the green it stays on the rear more times than not if you have trouble with your 3,4,5 irons at this price you should get some just make sure you hold on to the club grip it and rip it

It's a shame they don't make it anymore

This hybrid is very easy to hit, the head size is not too large and allow you to work the ball. You can hit high or low without much effort. For me it's a perfect substitute for the 5 wood (same distance, but easier to hit).
