This GPS is Not for the Novice user!
Has to be set up correctly to be of any value.
The battery life is poor.
Unit turns on by itself.
Maps are outdated, and as of 04/2011, no update avalable.
If you don't mind tweaking the settings to get it to route correctly, it will get you where going.
Has some good features, like speed alert. It will warn you if you go over the speed limit, then not bother you if you choose to stay over the speed limit.
It will alert you again if the speed zone changes.
Great windshield mount.
lIKES: it is neat to carry and easy to setup. Attachments are high-quality, suction cup is strong, and so is the dc charger.
I like the mp3 player and speaker feature.
I like the fact that you get all these accessories for the great value price.
The unit works right out of the box with no need to download anything from the Internet. It comes with its own SD card with map data included.
Navigating the menus were a little bit of a learning curve at first but it quickly made sense.
OVERall: great great value for a very reasonable price. it rocks.
The gps performs well but sometimes give incorrect directions. I traveled Virginia highway US-58W from Norfolk to Martinsvill,Va which is almost a straight line traveling just above the North Carolina state line. The GPS tried to divert me several times during the 240 mile trip. Will keep the gps but also keep the trusty old road atlas.........
Hard to use. Not recommend. The keyboard is in alphabet. To see the whole plan map have to zoom out. Doesn't say speed limit. Confusing display. Die fast batteries. To find point of interested have to choose catalog, doesn't find by business name. Annoying piece of device.
This product was advertised correctly, and is very up to date. However, I have found that it has trouble with accuracy in rural areas, and does take a length of time to connect with satellites.
Address entry could be made easier, but is not bad at all. There is only a single voice setting, so this is not meant to be a competitor to TomTom or Garmin - but it is priced well for what the device is capable of.
The accessories it is accompanied with work well, and I believe the unit is also of high quality. It simply lacks new age features, but is competitively priced with this fact in mind.
Overall, I gave the device 4/5 stars. It's a great device for the person who will use a GPS intermittently.
