The New Mutants comic was a great companion book to the X-Men. A little off-beat, quirky and just good teenage fun. While the last year or so the book was still being published took a more militant turn, the early years were just good old-fashioned comic book excitement. Highly recommended for the fans seeking to relive the past or new fans who want to see where some of the longtime faves started.
This volume is probably the least exciting of the releases so far. The art is fantastic but the writing seemed to take a slight dip during these issues. Overall though it's nice to finally se these stories get to print outside the original comics.
