    Reviews & Research

    CNET Editors' reviewGood

    • THE GOOD

The Netgear Wireless-N Router WNR2000 offers decent throughput speeds, excellent range, is easy to use, and has an affordable price. It also comes with a free, comprehensive Parental Control feature.

    • THE BAD

The Netgear Wireless-N Router WNR2000 has no dual-band, Gigabit, USB, or Guest wireless features. Its Web interface is sluggish at times, and the Parental Control requires software installed on the computer to allow exceptions.

    • THE BOTTOM LINE

The Netgear Wireless-N Router WNR2000 is a no-frills budget wireless-N router, with excellent range and a handy and comprehensive Parental Control feature. It's a good fit for those who just need a simple wireless network and the ability to control access to the Internet.

    Basic router, basic price.

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

Setup does not require a CD. Basic router at a basic price. The manual can be found online. While everyone hates setting up a router, I bought this one to use while visiting relatives. I hooked the cable up to my laptop and it automatically set the security key and was good to go for wireless.

Doesn't have all the features of more expensive models but most people don't use those anyway. Does support the newer bands. Internal antennae. No external as in other routers. Not sure how far the range is but for anywhere around the house, works fine.

If you buy this, I suggest downloading the PDF manual why you're waiting for it to arrive. But, within a couple of minutes it was set up. Not sure if it will support a home network or just connect wirelessly.

    wireless router

Bought this router and it took me from 54 mbps to 130 mbps. Very fast and excellent range which I found was double my previous range. I also had a problem with my old netgear router where it would stream HD video over my PS3 or computer but this new one does with no problem. I would definitely recommended this router to everyone.

Buy it, or three of them. Highly recomended

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

For the price this is the best router around and it gets even better when you get it below MSRP. I have purchased 3 of this model for myself and family. Simple setup with the ability to easily configure more advanced options. Netgear offers a lifetime warranty with this router, which results in better internal components that will outlast other routers that will fail after a few years.

    Good product, competitively priced

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

This is a great little 'off the shelf' router. It uses the similar interface that prior Netgear products used, along with some great additional features.

    Wireless Guest Network
    Network Isolation
    MAC Filtering and so on.
Easy to use and configure after spending a couple of minutes in the menus. It's really great that the networking terms used have an explanation on the pages for reference.

My experience with WPS is minimal and that process seemed cumbersome - may have been my wireless network printer...

Am happy with the product thus far.
